http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/07/08/6uqevu2e.jpggrout this tomorrow and get everything moved back into my bed room then move everything outta the back of the house and do all that back there next weekend
My wife wanted a new ceramic tile floor in the kitchen. Less cabinets, 12 1/2'X21 1/4'. I did the Home Depot training days, helped a tile man install 2 floors. My first job was a restaurant kitchen floor with the red 6x6 tile. I was told it's your house, you have to work the floor as you can, and live on it as you work. I did the measurements, put a caulk line down, did some more measurements, some cutting and started on the wall under the stove and frig. I got about 40 pieces down and the wife came home. Said "that's not how they did it on tv." I said, ok, you do it as they did on tv. I cleaned up what mess I had. Moved the stove and frig back some 3 days later and didn't touch it for 9 months. She did some Home Depot training days and we finished it in about 15 days.
I did a bathroom floor for a friend. Her son was a tile guy but wouldn't do anything for his mom. We laid the tile out about 30 times to find what tile went where. The tile was cut before the first piece went down. I started by the tub and under the toilet. He came in while I was about at that point. He said, "you can't put tile down like that." I finished in 2 hours, grouted the next morning, had toilet back in that night.
That's looking great.
Your second picture, the piece with the blue on the right side looked like it was tongue and groove or some of that locking floor boards.
Good job ducker! Looks great.
Looks nice!
What they said
Looks very good Ducker, I was really impressed with this floor when I laid it, it is beautiful and yes you are correct it is porcelain instead of ceramic. Porcelain is gray in the center and ceramic is red if I am correct. Think we put a light gray grout in the one we laid and man it made it pop. I finally started makin my rips with a masonry blade on a small 4 and half inch grinder because it was so long it was hard to get in my wet saw.
