That, my friend, is exactly what fishing is all about. Sharing. Good job.
God bless you man.
That story made my day. What a wonderful thing to do for some young kid. You probably made his entire summer with your unselfish gift. I hope I meet up with you on the water one day to thank you in person!
great deed
You will be paid back many times over for such a good thing.
I know exactly how happy you made that young boy. As a child I was raised on an orphanage. I loved to fish. There was a nice lake there and a short hike to the Willamete River. I had no pole or tackle. One of the guys that worked there bought me a rod reel and some tackle. I was a tough little kid. I could stand all the pain in the world and never cried. That generous gift taught me many lessons and gave me a lifetime of enjoyment. Since I have returned the favor to many kids.nothing in the world could have made that boy happier. It also taught him a valuable lesson. Compassion
Thank you for sharing this story it brings back memories for this old man. God bless you and that young boy.
Mike
It's amazing what a rod and reel can do for a life. Great story.
we often overlook important things that can change lives but you did a great thing .:ThumbsUp
That is a great thing that you did and I am sure the boy will remember it for the rest of his life.
Good story! And nice job helping the kid out thats the way everone should be
This story brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for your compassion.
awesome
You are an awesome man for this act. Good luck on your future fishing trips!
One of the zebco kits that you can get at walmart for $20 can make a difference in a child's life. I love taking my kids fishing, whether we catch anything or not, it's still worth it to see them doing something I grew up loving to do.
great read
Enjoyed the read. Thanks for sharing.
Great story. Those are what "we" should hear, yet we have media who loves the violent stories instead. Myself, known as the crappie killer in the county I grew up with a father who never had time for me as too many people needed him in political battles. His clients and friends took "the time" to teach the "kid" tactics on pan fishing. Three weeks ago, an elderly man saw me coming in with my wife and 43 9 inch plus blacks in two buckets and asked about my bass catching. None ever to speak of on this lake. No lures really work for us. He asked me who I was as my voice and manners seemed familiar to him. The ole man then walked to his truck, came out with a lure, weight, and hook and tied it on. Teaching me to flip and work the jig, with him next to me, I landed 18 bass in two hours of legal size on that lake shore. I asked what I owed him for the tactics. Kid-(still the kid) teach other kids, and your debt is paid. Well, at 55, I am not a kid, but to a man who said he was 93, I guess I am..
Nice deed.
God Bless you. Great story
Excellent tale, and a note to us all to remember what we are here for and that we must pass it on as was done for us. So many have taught us. What is all we know worth if it goes no further? My hat is off to you sir!!
Thank you for sharing with the Boy, and us
Great job! Acts of kindness are always appreciated by everyone.
Thats odd. I went by the ramp and a kid sold me a rig for 2 bucks. Said he had a couple back at the house he liked better. He would just have their butler bring him another one. Those geese looked like that new strain of zombie geese that have been in the news. One bite and the person becomes a mindless zombie or a democrat. But I repeat myself.
good story JEFF
great story, i'm sure that boy was happy
Great story......warms your heart.....I could feel that little boy's excitement.....
And (Jesus) said to them, Whoever shall receive this child in my name receives me: and whoever shall receive me receives him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.
Great job.
