Turn off user account control completely and see if that helps.

i also disabled anti virus , nothing,
it did however, install easily on my laptop
Suggest you delete the current download completely from your computer, and then download it again. Probably got a bad download.
Are you having trouble getting HBPC to download from the HB website...or having trouble getting the .exe application installer to install the program on to your PC...??

it downloads fine, it just won't fully install, says to try again, I have downloaded the program 6 times,
Can you right click on the .exe application installer and see something that says "Run as administrator"...??

I'm pretty much a computer flunkie, but ... since it installed OK on the laptop, isn't there some way to export that program to your PC from the laptop ?? CD disk, flash drive, USB port connection ??
Just "sounds" to me like there's something in the PC that's disrupting the download flow, that didn't happen with the laptop. I doubt it's Vista's fault, as most everything that was incompatible with Vista has long since disappeared from the market. I run Vista Home Prem 32bit, and have no problems downloading most anything I care to have on my PC.
I don't, however, use the uninstaller of programs I want to delete. They never seem to completely remove all of the files. Instead, I have CCleaner installed ... and use its uninstall program, and it removes every speck of the program files.
Which HBPC are you trying to download ?? 3.0.26 or 2.5.8 ?? I'd be happy to download either of them on my PC, to insure that Vista is not the culprit.

nope, today I tried to just login to my account and I'm not even there now, I think hb is having so web site issues. Still never have seen the hb pc program

my acct is back up, I have some install error, I looked it up, said to delete all java and do an off line installation
Here is a good uninstaller program...much better than Windows uninstaller...
This one seeks out all traces of the program that Windows would leave behind...
Be sure and select the Free version...

I deleted all Java, reinstalled Java offline version, 7, update 25,
fresh download of HB PC,
still error,
trying again, with AVG disabled,
contacting Greg also
