We carry a extra hub what has the bearing and grease already installed, comes that way.
A new hub with bearings less then 50,if buy the bearings at a parts store cost 60 to 80.
In the last month we have had both sides go out its nice just pull one hub off and replace a new one without getting grease up to your elbows replacing bearing.
Things happen been in your shoes setting on the side of the road but a new hub is like our fishing rods we don't leave home withoutem or a spare tire.
new hubs at Academy were only like $45 last time I looked, only need pliers to get pin and nut off, then slip old busted one off, slide new one on, on the rd in less than 20 minutes.
Sorry bout your luck! gotta get better, right?
Bad thing is it my SUV not my trailer
I carry a spare SUV for such times.
(Seriously, not good. You need us to call someone?)
:yikes Spare SUV. We had it towed in and there working on it now. We are hopping to get back on road soon.
Hope the remainder of your trip goes better for you
That's bad luck! Hope all gets better!
HAY made it homeJumping Jacks IconJumping Jacks Icon I just 500.00 lighter, wheel baring, brakes, tow.
Glad you made it home. Sorry to hear about all the expense.
Look on the bright side , better that it was only $500 than a $1000, sorry to here about all your trouble, when life deal you a bunch of lemons just make lemonade!!!!
Sorry for your bad luck. That's a bummer being stranded on the road!!!!
Look up Romans 8:28, You may have been stopped because something worst was going to happen. Give thanks in all things.
My boat quit running on me the other night at Ouachita. Was after midnight so didn't wanna wake anyone up, was frustrated at first but decided to just hangout. It was actually very nice out and I set a light in the water and started fishing... Ended up fishing until a little while after daylight and had a blast.. When life throws you a curveball knock it out of the park.
Two options: 1) Carry a spare, greased hub. 2) Carry a spare greased hub and have hubs repacked often. Same thing happened to me once. Hope I learned my lesson!
Iv'e never wore out a wheel bearing...but I am going to get that spare you all are talking about just in case...heck I didn't even know they made a spare bearing kit....just another reason I love crappie >com. Sorry about your bad luck Gin but you taught others by posting this... so that's a good thing in it's self. Thank you.
