What is everyone's favorite time to build and add to your structure? I am building some new places at night now but also plan on adding some fresh brush to these locations again around February.
Just about anytime fishing is slow.
I build them all year long and place them anytime there's not to many people around to see where they end up.
We build and sink during the months of Jan & Feb. Just your REAL serious fisherman out during that time of year. By the time that the spawn starts, ALL of our New Brush Piles have had time to grow alge and get harder to find. we are fishing the rest of the year. On different years, we target different depths of water. This past year, we worked on our deep water structures. They are starting to pay off. Two years ago, we worked on 12' - 15' which is what we are fishing now, and have been fishing since the spawn. Next year we will be starting on a different lake. Caught these on our Brush Piles this Saturday. Caught 13 over 2#'s last Sunday. But not the norm, just a couple of nice days in a role.

Caught 16 keepers besides the 4 Big'uns. Had to get off the water by 10:30 AM.

Just for clarification. You can't build structure. You can build cover, but you can't build structure. Structure is natural features of a lake, humps, creeks, drop off etc. Cover is grass, brush, trees, and man made cover simulators.

Structure in it`s strictest definition is PERMANANT contours of the bottom, whether natural (slopes, old stream and river beds, bridges and enbuttments, roads, foundations, ect.) A cement block and rubble pile might qualify as both...
Tomato or Tamoto, they are both mighty fine on a Homemade Hamburger. Just as long as we all know what we are talking about. When I was building, they called the building of the frame work a structure, until it was completed, then it was a House or a Building.
But you guys just use it in a sentence, I'm a retired school teacher, I can figure it out. :cheers2
