It is all I us 4LB. long line and shoot docks 10Lb. for pushing rods.
I troll with 4 lb Crappie Max it but I shoot docks with Trilene Sensation Orange 4 lb.
Mr. Crappie Hi Vis 6 lb test is all I use for trolling in lakes with lots of structure where hanging up is bound to happen. Mr. Crappie Hi Vis 6 lb test is all I usually use in any lake, but extremely clean lake such as Monroe or Crescent I will go with 4 lb Mr Crappie. Keep in mind I only troll.
Mr. Crappie 4-6 for long lining and Mr. Crappie 10 pound for pushing. all high vis
I guess I am an odd ball. I didn't like the old Mr Crappie line nor the BPS Crappie Max line. I have always and still like the Viscous PanFish HiViz in 4,6,8, and 10 lbs tests. Use it for shooting docks, jiggn brush and trees, longline, spidderrig, and pulln cranks. Always get the bulk spools for Viscous and Monks has it for $7.99. I have seen some of the small filler spools not be worth a darn. When I need a clear line, I like the BPS Excel clear or moss green in 6 and 8 lbs in bulk spools too. Fixn to order some more from Monk and respool everything this summer.
I've recently changed out my Crappiemax for some Yo-Zuri Hybrid and really like it so far. The breaking strength seems to be higher then the crappiemax which is important when snatching litewire from the lumber. Right now I'm useing 6lb but will change to 4lb as soon as I can find it in large spools. Here is a chart on Yo-Zuri strength.

Thanks for all the info! Hope uall had a good Father's Day!
Never tried....use Vicious 10lb for spider rigging and trolling. 4lb for shooting docks. 6lb for casting.
I made fun of this line when Timbo pulled out his rods at Talquin on a cold February day. When he had me 14 to 0, I axed him if I could barrow some. I rigged two poles and they started catching fish. When we got back to the Lodge I purchased a spool and rigged the others. Today every reel I have, including bass and bream, are rigged with 4. 6 or 10 lb. It works for some reason. Come to Talquin in November and look at every reel, you will see this Hi Viz on all. Nough Said!
I tried Crappie-Maxx and not a big fan. Seems to me it would break lot easier............and that is with litewirehooks............Don't use anymore.
I haven't tried Crappie-Maxx...since I am still using Mr. Crappie (original). I stocked up on it when I heard it was no longer going to be made as Mr. Crappie. I have enough on hand to last a couple of life times. #6 Mr. Crappie and I can about pull a stump off the bottom before it will break.
My buddy has had mixed results with Crappie-Max...usually has to strip a couple hundred yards off the spool to get to the good line.
I also like Ande #6 in flo. green.
if you leave them in the light it will detoriate the line . from reel to tip of pole and back to handle is 25 ft on a 12 ft . pole
I use 6lb test on all my long line poles.
Well, I went out and bought me a roll of this fishing line and I really liked it a lot. I was worried that the fish would see it and head the other way, but we ended up with 12 good fish that night. Now, I have to figure out how to post pictures. Lol
I use Mr. crappie hi vis yellow all the way...I do use line conditioner on it when shootin docks! 6 lb test will straighten a hook ! Unless its a Matzuo sickle they break!! heheheh
I use it in all my crappie poles.
I think in most cases hi viz yellow, especially the thinner it is like 4lb and 6lb test will not spook fish at all, want to share a real experience with you, on Clarks Hill about 2 years ago. Me and Dad were long lining one morning using the same baits and colors, I had Crappie Maxx 4lb Camo on my spinning reels, he had Crappie Maxx 8lb hi-viz yellow. The count at the end of the day was my 50 to his 2. I tried slowing down to get him deeper thinking that was the problem, still no cigar. It convinced me without a shadow of a doubt that thick hi-viz yellow in clearer water definitely can make or break you. We generally are about equal on catch ratio. Needless to say the next fishing trip, guess what wasn't on his reels. I am a huge fan of Crappie Maxx Camo, it does get the job done, so it seems the thinner hi-viz yellow does too. Clearer water applications with thicker high viz yellow line can be a bummer. Most lakes around here have good stain to them and nullifies this problem. For me it's the Camo and 4lb test for extra insurance. I have experimented with Trilene XL 10lb test clear on baitcasters long lining and it does a good job, it's diameter is equivalent to Crappie Maxx 8lb test. Anything thinner than 10lb just doesn't work right on a baitcaster when casting it will have a tendency to want to bird nest with you more easily, anyways that's my 2 cents. Good fishing!
This is what the 6lb yo-zuri hybrid does to a snagged sickle hook.
