This will be my new work home within the next couple weeks. Gotta go to meet it in West Africa, then to Trinidad to load up. It's a bit larger than my War Eagle but will do just fine in the Gulf Of Mexico.:biggrin

Ooooops , should have put in off topic, sorry G
You could pull some serious crankbaits with that rig!
I got it....
West Africa...:yikes..... Keep watch for Pirates!
I'd like to Engineer that rig for a while. Looks like a nice one. You work on the boat it's self or on the rig?
Dang, can you pull cranks off the back of that thing?Get you plenty of sunblock!
That sure would be interesting for me to work on for a while. Seen some shows on how you get those things set up and all the technology it takes to keep it in place while your drilling. Lots of neat machinery to tinker with. You know if it's main power is straight Diesel/Mechanical or Diesel/Electric?
I've landed on a few of those.
I've welded on a few of those.
Between me, my wife, and my two kids automobiles, I've helped keep a few of those in business!:banghead haha
Cray , if its like most it has 8 diesel Electric generators. The engines are about the same size as train engines. It's takes a lot of power to run one. Not sure if it has 8 or 10 thrusters on it. They have a DP system that will maintain a 4 inch position while drilling. The Semi I'm on now got a good test in April. A squall line popped up with 110 knt winds. With all 8 thrusters at 100 percent we only moved 75 ft off location. Got a t-shirt on that for the memories I guess.
Hard to imagine they can stay that close to position. Pretty neat.
