Dangit! Lets hear a report.
Wannabe...
Rabbit and Pat with 24.99 for a 2 day total.
[QUOTE=ATM;2351283]Here's your report. I have a 6' gouge down the side of my boat from a piece of submerged rebar and I knocked a chunk out of my skeg on another submerged something. Not sure what it was, but it was hard. Barnett SUCKS! How's that for a report?[/QUOTE
Ouch!!!! Hate that Chaney. The rebar is down there for sure, the gewber that drove it into the stumps years ago when the lake was down need their, well NKF!
Oh, and G3Troller dang near ripped a hole in the hull of that Ranger of his on the piece of rebar he found. I hope I never see that God forsaken, dink infested cess pool again.
good lord--what the heck is the deal with rebar all over that lake--good thing nobody fell out of a boat--sounds like you'd get impaled
ATM that really sucks--I hate that for you big time. Same for G3. Heck I'm surprised Don Don still has a boat as much as he fishes that lake lol
The deal with rebar is that a long time ago when the water was low, a bunch of gewbers decided it was a great idea to mark a bunch of stumps with rebar. Literally hundreds of them! These stumps are actually the tops of broken trees in submerged oxbow lake beds. Over the years some of this rebar has broken off and is underneath the surface. These stump lakes are where the fish are typically located during the summer time. You bring in fishermen not familiar with the lake, throw in some wind and pleasure boat waves and you have disaster in the making.
not good
I sure hate to hear about the trouble you guys had during the tourney. It sucks when you have a nice rig and it gets scared up. If its any consolation I have many a scar on my rig from rebar on the Rez and lumps from unseen objects on the ever changing Ten-Tom. Heck, my neighbor got a couple holes punched in his rig a while back. It's just the price you pay when you Feesh these places.
Oh btw, that's in June, post spawn also. Go back and look at all this years fj totals, only one lake all year beat this, Washington, in Feb.
Yall will learn one day to stay up in the north part of the state where the real fish are. They dont call it gods country for nothin
If you're careful, you don't have problems. I've never got a scratch on my hull from Barnett cause I know you can't just idle through a stump field. Put it in gear for a second or two, them take it out of gear n drift a second. If you understand that, you'll never have problems. Dink hole, what was the 2 day total? Not to bad for post spawn skinny fish on any lake. Barney's on its way back right now. It's always run in cycles and its fixen to get real good, heck it already is. I know I caught the heck out of 14-15 1/2 inch fish this spring and I can't wait til this fall. Gonna be frigging awesome. Oh, almost forgot, the only lake that ever made me learn to fix fiberglass is Grenada. I hit a stump over near redgrass n gouged a hole
Gewber, your theory about idling doesn't cut it. I didn't even have my big motor running! Did all that with the trolling motor and a twenty mile an hour wind.
All joking aside about "The Dink Hole", the weights were better than I anticipated. I do have a new found respect for the weights it's capable of producing. But I still think the average weight will be in the bottom third of all the lakes MCC fishes. Maybe we'll see when the MCC newsletter comes out.
Your rite Chaney. I stay off it in high winds, but I don't tourney fish as much as some of you guys. We usually watch and if they are giving out more than 12 we don't go. I just hate you guys had such bad conditions for t day.
anybody have the full weigh in stats ?
somebody did fall out d boat!
You musta been wide open them cause I've hit a many a piece of rebar n never done more than a scratch. Hate y'all had that happen. I've had my transducer broken off on a stump one time. 3 foot rollers n one picked my boat up Nd dropped me right on a stump. Broke the ducer clean off
If I'm not mistaken most of the rebar is around thr rice lake area....I never take my glass boat there, always my wareagle. And I don't fish tourneys there, so I avoid it in high winds.
Hate to hear that chaney.. That war eagle is sweet!!
Sorry about ya'lls boats . I like sammy don't go in a high wind and if I'm up there and wind gets up I get out of the stumps . There is rebar everywhere in the stumps . They get bent over and broken off . Lots of stumps under water now . And it gets ugly in the wind . Sorry about your boats . we got fish just ask Mr. Charley .
The rebar is all over the main lake. That white bay boat DD's got probably doesn't show scratches like a glitter finish bass boat or a nice aluminum boat with a purty paint job.
The team that won was no surprise but the weights were! I know us tournament guys like to sandbag leading up to tournament day but my prefishing was truly tough. We actually threw our original plan to the wind Friday morning and went to a spot we just thought they should be and they were. We caught 10 pounds by 7:00 trolling double minnow rigs in the Sawdust Pile. We culled up ounces the rest of the day to get to 10.41 and came in 7th. On Saturday we headed right back to the Sawdust pile but the fish were either gone or had lockjaw. After 45 minutes we had one fish in the well that weighed about a pound. The wind got up and the rollers started! We switched over to single pole jig fishing and did that the rest of the day. I know after fishing all day Saturday in those 20+ mph winds there is no better boat than a Ranger. We were the only boat out in the middle of the lake fishing the old lake beds and contrary to some other reports we didn't hit a single piece of rebar. Waves were coming over the front of the boat but we were able to hold it in place with the MK 36v 101. We caught 40+ fish jig fishing and came in with 9.85 which was enough for 9th place and we came in 5th overall.
Good report MS Slab, congrats on a good finish.
When are the full results and weights going to be posted on the MCC Forum here on C.C ?
Good finish High and Steve.
Congrats Hugh, KNOW that lake will beat you to death. Betting you had some over 3 foot rollers coming through with that wind
