Not yet but it wont long.
It's fun chasing those buggers down, but in the end you're just left with slimy clothes and boat.
Loved 'em 3 days a week growing up, that was plenty. I can be more particular as I've aged and can afford to be. Dad always made me dress every fish we caught and I hated skinning cats with those worn dime store pliers. Momma's spoon and butcher knife was always preferable to me. Dad could always find a mess of cats without a boat....and he found lots! Slept many a summer night on the wingwalls in an early 70's LTD station wagon, while tightlining liver, worms, shad and the such.
I'll jug for crappie but be close if a cat gets on one of them or it goes back.
Good little story Feelay. My dad was about he same,he never feelayed a fish in his life. And never really owned a fishing boat, most fish were caught from the bank. One of my best menories was daddy coming home with fried livers and tater logs saying ''come on boy let's go fishing''.I was young then, i'm guessing my momma was working night so livers and tater logs was dinner.Good times
just wonderin if anyone catchin. ive been twice since the rain last week and cant find em.
Mississippi, neighbor has been a couple of times and his luck has been about like yours. So no good info on where to go.
Figure this time of the year you should be able to catch em along the levy, they spawning and this be setting in the rocks.
Rees you keep forgetting this ain't Nader. Butla fish don't do anything on schedule with anyplace else. Most have been caught up creeks in flooded fields but they seemed to have turned off.
Lot of fish caught around here in the rocks where they bed and you are rite all of the big 4 have their own ways.
was gonna try against the levee today but the strong south wind didnt allow. saw two fellas in the the upper end close to hwy 51 the other day said they had been all over and fishing since 7 that morning with no fish. havent been able to find any shad either. last year i could throw a net about twice up on the lake and get enough shad to fish all day. high water got everything scattered. i have fished from the dam all the way to 51 for two days. might have to troll some cranks next week at sardis. thanks for the info cray.
