I don't know anything about the side imaging units or how to read them. Is that a shot of a 3 lb crappie at Poinsett?
look at this way looking to the left or right at night with a spot light and you shine the light on what looks to a log on the left side if look at it you can see a shadow on the back side of the log same on the right side with the humps or rocks you see the shadow on the back side it would be the same with a big rock pile brush pile stump a tree and so on just think of it as you are standing down their on the black line looking to the right or left hope this helps you out
I repeat the question. How long is the pole I was using. The answer is in the pic. :Rofl Come on SI guru's show your stuff. Another piece of info that may help, boat is a wareagle 542. Transducer is mounted on the transom, port side.
You weren't using a pole because there is no way you can do three things at once. You were watching the graph, you were taking a picture and your wife was fishing. She was using a 10 foot pink Ozark.
:Rofl I wasn't needing the brand and color, even though the pink Ozark is a beauty. You may can catch a whole buncha great big fish, kill deer that have horns that would cradle a 350 Chevrolet engine (everyone needs to notice the background of those crappie pics taken in the garage), and kills turkeys that you would hate to run across in a dark alley at night, but you missed this one.:biggrinI am surprised that you didn't tell me the location of the pic. Come on you SI guru's show your stuff.
8ft
I have never seem a SI unit before and know very little but I'm gonna guess 12 ft. I say that bc the structure on the left is a little over 10 ft.
I'm kinda like htr2133. If you're fishing, you gotta be fishing cover on the left or right and it looks to be maybe 15 feet to the left and 14 feet to the right. You'd have to be fishing a 14 foot pole or you wouldn't be anywhere near the cover. So my guess is 14 foot, prolly slow trolling past both pieces of cover between them. But what do I know! :dono
14'
I actually had a line at the end if my post saying possibly a 14. I promise!
I was actually running some 16's out the side. Of course the butt end of the rod and the position of the transducer would need to be nearly the same, and they were. Attachment 127000 The text that was in red that you can't read was stating that the long squiggly sonar return was from the egg sinker on a 2 hook CnC rig. Math has the length at 15 feet which is pretty close.
Well you see, I noticed that you had your boat positioned pedcisely 16' from the log on the left. This tells me that you were performing the top secret Crappie Floozy Decoy Technique. Where you throw that hot momma out there and them big ole studs meet you half way. What did I win??
A new tube of lipstick for your Crappie Floozy. Your choice of color Red, Chartreuse, Hot Pink, or for the Goth Floozy, Black.
I was gonna guess 8', because Carol told me you got some 16 footers, and I figure with you paying so much attention to the graph and getting pics and what not, you got too close to the tree that was 16' to your left, and snapped the front pole in half. There's my answer, and I explained why.
I always wait till last and learn from everyone else:biggrin
