Fish it before you go buying sumpin, the closer you can be to your racks the better.
I am too close. My knees are hitting the poles.
Got ya
You need a taller post for the rig.
Or a shorter post for the seat.
Raise your racks up....then you will have leg room and you can grab a pole without having to lean forward and bend over.
Was thinking a taller rack would work. Was looking at those new spyder loc racks that adjust
Move those holders more toward the center of that curve. That will put them at their furthest point and still be close enough to reach them. What about your trolling motor? Where is it mounted?
I use an offset post but to get me closer to my racks. It would work the other way for sure. I got mine at Bas Pro.
On the pic it looks like there is enough room. Are you putting your reels in the holders so the end of the rod sticks out beyond the holder, towards your knees?
Must be Rip, I put mine in the holders just enuff to hold
old marty is a big old boy
Get you one of these, and out it where ya want it when you get to your spot. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/05/20/u8a6y9u6.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/05/20/vugezeme.jpg
I'll let ya try before ya buy. :)
Trolling motor does go in the middle where the puck is. I usually put the reels in the holder when I pull cranks but haven't tried spider rigging yet so didn't know how I would put them. Couple of pictures here no way I could have them with the reels in holders but possibly with them on the very end. Attachment 126294Attachment 126295

And if the kitchen chair wasn't so heavy I think that would work

Get ya a nice comfy lawn chair
As someone mentioned earlier, can you move that rack mount more out to the curve in the rail? They would not be right in front of you but off to the side a bit.
Thinking of taking that tubing off and getting better mounts and mounting straight to the floor and more to the corner
Call scott at hitek he will build u a rod holder set up that has a off set in it. Off set could be outward a few inchs and then your seat would be fine. Sell those rod holders or move to side or rear of toon.
Marty, going to assume that post is 1/2 in. Find you a piece of flat stock about 2in wide and 4in long. Drill a 1/2 in hole in each end. Use short bolt to mount it to base then use a nut underneath to mount stem. May need 2 on stem to lock to plate. Should give you enough offset cheap to build another if it dosnt.
I have about a foot of 1 X 2" rect. tube if you want to try that.
