Spent most of the day finding some fish and managed to catch a nice mess. We caught them shallow and deep no real pattern. We got right up on this 10 ft gator and his tail was sliced at his back legs about an inch deep must have been hit by a boat.

That is a nice mees of fish. Henderson has some of the prettiest color sac-a-lait you will ever see. That is a boy old boy there.

You also must have used your "hot tub time machine" to go into the future to catch those fish today :juggle
Wow. U did better than I did there yesterday. Caught one right away. I did not get another bite after that. Tried to give it away at the landing. Nobody I spoke to had caught anything. So I took it home.
In Illinois we just do not get pics like that.....Maybe a beaver swimming by but not a big gator!
Maybe a coonass forgot his lunch and needed a snack.
I also fished Henderson yesterday. Tried around the North Flats. Didnt catch anything. All the other boats that I spoke to at the launch were also short on luck.

i went today and not a bite from a sac... caught several throw back bream and the preference was for worms and not crickets. sack came today and he snagged some fish so no sacs, no keepers but no fish to clean and i got to spend the day with sack and cook for cinch de mayo which i have never done....good day.... now cc06 where the h... did u catch those fish?????
He was a big boy no less than 10 ft I can't believe he let us get that close with all the noise we made but remember the TV shows have to embelish a little LOL. fishervet we fished our you know what off catching one here and one there I have never fished so many different areas as I have the last two trips behind those fronts its been very slow for me not my usual trip in Henderson. I normally stay in one general area all day but I have been moving around trying to find fish and most of them were caught under grass are suspended above it. We did have 10 bluegills and goggle eyes mixed with 2 nice bass but they were buried under the 23 sacs.

There are plenty of drum (gou) in there this year I've caught my quota for at lease 5 yrs between Henderson and Poverty Point this year!
Lets not talk about those goo; nasty fish. The quota here is zero. Here before long, folks will pipe up and talk about how good they are stewed/prepared ribs, etc. much like those nasty carp that JR so much enjoys :rolleyes:

I haven't been since I took the kids bream fishing. Gonna fix that today and tomorrow. Headed to Arkansas in about an hour. Can't wait.
I've made a few trips last week with outboard, and kayak, and just can't get my spots to produce yet.
Really want some big chinks like caught in the past.
One area was near the RR pilings, near Bijeaux, and I saw one of the huge Troy Landry Swamp People special gators, biggest I've ever seen. Those things are really awesome and impressive up close !
