Please don't forget that if you fish BOTH tourneys, you can only use three poles per person.
Yep, but the FJ rules are different on the pole limit. Just a reminder.
nononoNot according to the FJ rules you wont, 4 per person on the COE lakes. Tried to address this earlier and was ignored completely.
8) Fishing Methods. New rule: Maximum pole limit is eight (8) poles unless the lake limit is less, such as Grenada Lake where the maximum would be six (6), or for a single fisherman, three (3). This applies even if more than two (2) fishermen are in the boat. Live or artificial bait is allowed. In the case of a single man team, you are limited to the per person lake limit for that tournament but not to exceed eight (8) in the case of Lake Washington, which has no pole maximum. For a lake like Washington or Chotard with no pole limit, a person fishing by themselves could fish eight (8) poles. On a COE lake, he's limited to four (4) or on Grenada three (3). No more than two (2) hooks or lures allowed per pole. Absolutely NO wading or bank fishing allowed.
will we also be in the escorted "convoy" from water valley to the weight in?
Not a have to if not in the MCC but I think you will want to. the weigh-in is down town and they will escort and park us, then closing off where we are parked. Be better to leave you boat with its gear among the others than off somewhere else, to me at least.
gotcha tks
Ress you weren't ignored. Spiderwoman made it perfectly clear. Folllow the rules of the tournament you are fishing. The rule is clear. 4 pole limit on a COE lake if you are a fishing alone in the FJ.
Also, didn't realize since this is a joint tournament ran simultanesously with MCC that it woulkd be neccessary to post the start and stop time, but for those who feel they need clarification, they are the SAME as MCC.
4 poles for the FJ, my bad.
Tommy why wouldn't you fish both tournaments?
FYI - Just wanted to pass on some weigh-in info. I was wondering how weights would be recorded with two tournaments going on at the same time. I was told that teams fishing both tournaments would weigh-in at the same time but those that only fish the crappie.com tournament will have to wait until the MCC weigh-in is over.
It will be interesting to see how this works out. I truly hope it helps the participation of both organizations but so far I don't see how it has helped the Fj's but registration will be the true test. Should be a fun day of fishing!
Yikes - I'm like you, I'm not sure what the benefit is other than having both groups fishing together. The tournament is actually a Water Valley tournament, they came to MCC asking us would we hold a tournament for them in conjunction with their festival. In return they would sponsor MCC. The tournament is an open tournament with no club membership required. MCC uses the tournament as one of our regular season events to encourage participation. MCC will not make a penny off of any team that fishes the tournament. Although crappie.com stands to increase their finals payout if teams sign up for both tournaments. I just don’t understand the need for the two separate tournaments running at once. I have no problem with trying to get both clubs to fish together. I just think there is a better way. I think when Ken asked crappie.com to join in he had good intentions and was trying to smooth over bad blood from a previous bad encounter. I would of preferred that both organizations agree to use the tournament as a regular season event. That way we would all weigh-in together and had one big tournament.
I think its a live and learn thing, gonna work out fine and be a good day in Water Valley.
I know the fruit jar teams can feesh the MCC tourney but can the MCC guys feesh the fruit jar?
Yep, FJs are always open tourneys.
Correct.
I wonder how many MCC teams will be fishing the fruit jar
I know of several including Superglue.
We will see, several only need one more to qualify for the FJ Championship in June so I figure those will for sure.
