I have a huminbird 581 di that has broken the transducer mount 3 times, the mount is on the transom of my boat on the right hand side.I went around and looked at some other boats and mine seems to be mounted like the others I saw.I was wondering how I can mount it through the hull?I saw some through hull transducer kits but I've never had to do that before. Any ideas would be a big help.
They don't just break.
That would be from hitting something or abuse.
Possibly from the boat trailer? At any rate.
Depending upon the hull type is where you go next. If it's aluminum your out of luck.
I agree is it hitting the trailer while loading or unloading ...
I know its hitting something,I don't see how it could be my trailer because the rear of the boat hangs off of the trailer.It's a fiberglass 18 ft sprint boat. I don't know what to do this is the only boat I ever had this problem with.
If it’s a fiberglass boat; why not install the transducer inside-the-hull and not worry about breaking the mounting hardware? You can use the transducer you have. only problem is that the water temperature will now show your hull temperature.
Had same problem with hitting stumps. Got a transducer saver and cured problem.
I tried and must have done something wrong.Now all I get is .6for my depth. I used epoxy so I have to get a new transducer. I put it in my ski boat like that and it worked fine so I'm lost.
