Trying to pick out a new unit for my flatboat. Dont want anything too fancy or expensive so Ive narrowed it down to these 2 units. Im def leaning towards the Lowrance but have heard good things about the 560 as well. What do you guys thing?... Anyone have one of these units? Thanks

JRoberts, You may want to do some more checking. Quite a bit of difference:1 -The 560 is a black and white unit and I think it has single beam transducer, the 561 has the duel beam transducer, has a 5 inch screen and is 2D capable ONLY and cost about 150 at Cabelas. 2- The Elite 4x dsi is color , has a 3.5 inch screen and is DI capable ONLY. I just bought the Elite 7 HDI that has a 7 inch screen and is DI and 2D capable e/w GPS. Quite a bit of difference in cost. Not sure of your needs or budget, but board sponsors have the best price. Sorry, it is the 561 I was looking at not the 560.
Im not sure what you mean by the 4x being DI only. Does it mean it only produces Downscan imaging and no other images? Thanks for your help

JRoberts, I think that the Elite 4x DSI will show down scan ONLY and has a 3.5 inch screen. The Humminbird 561 DI will get regular sonar AND down imaging on a 5 inch screen, but is black and white. I bought my Elite 7 from BBG and talked to Brian, he can give you all of the details and a good price. I hope this info has been a help....... crappie1133
There is a model 561 and a model 561 DI.
Both have the same black and white display but different sonar capabilities.
The 561 has our standard 200/83kHz (20/60 degree beam) Dual Beam Plus 2D sonar while the 561 DI has both the 455/200kHz (16/25 degree) 2D sonar plus the 800/455kHz (45/75 degrees) DI sonar.
Make sure which model you are looking at getting.

Look at the 571 Di bird. Better resolution than the 560 or 561

Im looking to spend no more then 200$ on a unit. If yall where in the same situation which one would you get?
Then having both 2d and Di is pretty much impossible unless buying a used unit. The 571di goes for right around 250. I would go with a regular 2d sonar in the largest high rez screen i could find.
The HB 561 DI will allow 2d and DI..(in a black and white 5" screen)..
MSRP is $199...(the board sponsors can probably beat that price)...

The HB 571 HD DI is the same as the 561 DI above....but with a little better vertical resolution (which would be important when splitting the screen)...
MSRP is $249...(the board sponsors could probably get this one very close to $200 for you)...

Thats the one I think Im gonna get. Anyone on here have the unit and like it? Ive been looking up reviews for this unit and all I can find is the same guy complaining about the bolt for the transducer being defective. No one else is saying much about it. Thanks again for the responsesQuote:

I think that in the same price range that getting a 2D/DI unit versus a 2D only unit is definitely worth it.
Not sure what the complaint about the bolt for the transducer is but it must not happen much if he has been the only one complaining.
