Debra and I passed a large heard on the way out of the park this morning. She said "they sure are pretty", I said "they sure do eat good". She cut me a look!!
there is a nice buck mounted in the office there at the park . It was killed buy a camper several yrs. ago . I bet he wishes he never saw a deer ! SHOOTING A DEER ON A WILDLIFE REFUGE, OUT OF SEASON ! would be rather expensive .nonono
Yep, counted 28. Them things sure need thinning. Everyone was so poor they looked like they were sick. Got quite a show when they got down towards the water. A couple of them little bucks got to standing on their hind legs and prancing around.
They were poor cray, jerknmeat said alot of the deer in the park are like that, wonder why they are so skinny????
Cause there are WAY to many of them and not enuff food.
Youth Hunt Needed ASAP
When the wife and I stay down there we bring a sack of corn and feed them..
If you take an empty water bottle with gravel in it and shake it, they come runnin like a pet
And just why wernt you at CAMP!
:Rofl:RoflHe just can stand the rattling of them cake wrappers can he????
2 reasons biggest is over grazing their forage base need to be thinned real bad. Also I would think there is probably a lot of inbreeding going on because of them not being hunted at all. They have figured out they are protected so few of the bucks are going to leave the area especially with the abundance of Does in the area.
After comparing your deer to MO deer, you need to thin the herd bad. I didn't even hunt when I lived down there. Who wants to shoot a dog sized animal.
