Here's some of Stone hump structure.Attachment 122971Attachment 122972
It represents a false echo of the 2d. The white is DI overlay on the 2d. I wish Lowrance would sync the split views of 2d and DI.
Always remember that structure size in the SI image is relative to the SI Range the unit is set at...(and the size of the display screen)...
The farther the unit is set to scan...the smaller the structure is going to be on the display...
This is 50ft left and right on my 1197's 10.4 inch screen...

im sorry ljones, i wasn't thinking, i should have posted what unit im using. its a humminbird 998. in this picture theres 1"X2"boards nailed together with the hight of the boards being about 3' tall . http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...psb4c99dbf.png i think that in this picture the boat speed was around 3mph with sensitivity set to 1 and contrast was either 9 or 10. default setting really work the best but i cant keep from tinkering around with the settings.
heres two of the same pictures that ive showed but these are using a different color pallet and different range settings.these pictures were taken in 2011 and those that i posted above were taken in 2013...http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps0969c3fa.pnghttp://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...psb5d72aa5.png
Kosmo those are great pictures. What is that on first blue picture on the right side?

good pick
Nice pic there badbrad
That's one of the cleanest shots that I've seen so far of stakebeds and crappie. Nice shot badbrad!
No guessing on badbrads shots.
2 words sum it up. "worth it"
Picture of a stake bed using a humminbird 597hd/Di..http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...2-02113407.jpg
Here's a stake bed that i got a picture of using my 360...http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps884c627f.png
Here's some poles that ere stuck in the mud..http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps83f4953b.png
So a HB 597 does a better job then a HB 360 2K strap on unit? I would think as you pay more the quality would increase? I'd bet any old Di unit could provide a similar image, but when you shell out several 4-5K for a unit combo, you'd expect better quality? Right? Maybe HB greg can comment on quality?
I'm going to set up a yak in the next couple weeks and get a Low elite-4, If I can get some screenies, I will. Unless there is an HB unit that compares. I'm out of the big unit buzz.
heres some more pictures from my humminbird 597 for you to compare with your new elite4.http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...2-02122100.jpghttp://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...2-02115609.jpghttp://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...i-photo101.jpghttp://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...i-photo114.jpg
I like those shots Kosmo. I'd consider one of those, but the elite-4 is just so compact, I think it'll be just the right size for a kayak.
.... here's a couple of shots from my E5DSI for comparison --

... and while they're not "stake beds", they are decent renderings of a couple of trees out on a point drop. An E4 should show just as good, just slightly smaller images.
(my apologies for the highjack)
