Looks like i might follow you around sun. Lol
Good catch. I only managed 16 on Big Bear today. Had a hard time not getting sea sick with all the boat traffic.
I gotta tell ya... This is special for me. This Grandson's mama (my daughter) is just a little "Mother Henish." :Rofl
This is youngman will be 16 the 26th and this is the 1st time she has let me get him in a boat. We have fished but NOT in a boat. This is his first "Man Camp" with Papa too! He got fish guts on his hands for the first time in his life yesterday. He started out rib'n the filets' with gloves on. After I started rib'n him about smell'n perfume he took off the glove and got into it. I like to have never got him to lip a fish but he don't back up now!
This has been one of the best 3 days I have ever had! He's a great, Christian young man, who's parents have chosen to go their separate ways. He lives in a house with 2 females (Mom and little Sister) so this has been great for him!
He told his mom that he was gonna start coming here with me every time I'm home off the boat! I'll take that every time! SHe is so excited about the fun he is having!
It don't get much better for me! :ThumbsUp

Great job Wiskers and Grandson! You guys done GOOOOOD! Looks like you've got yourself a heck of a crappie fisherman there! Hey, he's gonna be drivin' soon! You'd be a really cool Grandpa :kewl if you got him his own set of keys for the truck and the boat so he can fish while you're on the "BIG" boat!?
Congrats on spending time with your g-son. I also enjoy taking mine out. Lifetime memories for the both of you.

16 yrs old and never been out in the boat!! My Grandpa would have had a fit if my Mom would have made that rule! Ha ha Glad ya got him out there and had a good trip. I am amazed that my nephew is so disgusted about having to touch blood and guts. I can't ever remember having a problem with getting my hands dirty.....I tell ya what these young'uns these days! Awesome whiskers. My two year old grand son was watching us prepare for KY lake. He looked at the map I was looking at so I explained it to him. He goes I want to fish KY lake too. I can't wait till I can take him too. I am hoping its not 14 more years. I did take him to Dads pond a few weeks ago0 hooked a nice bluegill and handed him the rod and he backed up the bank and pulled it out. So many kids grow up without being introduced to the outdoors. I got a buddy that never fished or hunted as a kid now he has a pack of beagels and does some deer hunting and fishing. That is an exception to the rule though if kids aren't intrduced to the outdoors they probably be interested later in life.
My cousin and I are taking my grandson to Rend lake here in Ill. Tomorrow for his first fishing trip in a boat. It will be his 9th birthday and going fishing was what he wanted to do to celebrate. The little guy loves to fish and will sit on the bank and fish for 5 to 6 hours at a time and still complain about going home. I really hope he gets to catch a bunch of big crappie instead of the little bluegill he is used to catching in the shall pond by his house. Hopefully it will be a good trip because the reports are that the crappie are moving in to the buck brush.
Great to see, you deserve the good times enjoy them...
