Got to green river today fished above 551,water temp-64 ,21 keepers 10-12" on white roadrunner with blue&white curltail.Gary

no I don't think we had near enough rain to effect the lake
Anything going on at Holmes Bend Marina the week of April 28 - May 2? I and five other fishermen will be up there from Tennessee to try our hand at Crappie and Smallmouth. I'll check later to see whether any of you old hands at the lake have any tips for the lake for this old unclued minnow-drowner.
I never have heard of guys fishing for smallmouth at Green before. I thought they all went to Cumberland or Dale Hollow. Anyone know what a nice smallmouth would weigh at green river? Surely the fishing pressure on them would not be as much as the other two lakes.
U need to ask cnorf I thank he has caught a pig smally at green.
Green River Lake is a good lake for Smallmouth, Crappie, Walleye, & Muskies. Many of the Bass tourney weigh-ins will have Smallmouths in the creels. I haven't fished it for Smallmouth, so I'm not familiar with what the average size would be.

I had one two years ago musky fishing that weighed 5.49 on a jerk bait. Not sure how big they get there but i know of one good one that is still there unless someone else kept him
There are some good smallies on gren... I have caught some at the bridge, the cove above Holmes bend and from butler on the left bank to dam. There is a small knoll in front of butler that you can always find some good fish..... Good luck... Love fishing green...
Caught several crappie fishing over the years anywhere from 12" up about 3 1/2 lbs. Good lake.
To be honest. I catch more nice bass crappie fishing than I do bass fishing. :HandsClapping

I don't know--I've never fished Green River Lake. I was talking with a Green River guide in March and he showed me pics of pretty good Smallmouth he had caught.
What's the latest on Green River Lake? We will be there Sunday through Thursday next week. Are the crappie still in?
