I haven't heard a thing, but I'll look around and see what I can find out.

I heard some rumors, but I figured it was just someone pulling my leg....what a.m. station did you hear this on? I can contact them and get more info...thanks----Caleb
I heard it on KURM. I don't know what show it was, I was just flippen through.
I would imagine it would be a few days before they released anything on it due to a possible world record. I'm sure we're talkin just a few ounces if that.
Send an Email to the area GFC fisheries biologist. He should know if it's true .
Caleb,
Hi! I don't know about this... I forwarded it on to Mike Armstrong, Chief
of Fisheries to see what he knows...
That would be exciting news if true...
Cheers, Kim

We should find out one way or another! I have not seen anything in the local newspapers yet. That radio anouncer may have got the wrong news or the wrong lake! It is a.m. radio after all!
I think I recall seeing where a new Missouri State record was caught recently. I believe in a private lake and it was a Black Crappie.

The local outdoor writer knows nothing about it as well as the baitshops. I'm going to say the radio station must of recieved bad info or a prank!
Very unfortunate, it would have been great for Arkansas!
That's too bad, was really looking forward to hearing about this publicly....oh well, as long as you keep baitin' the hook you might come up with that AR record sooner or later...world record out of the question on Beaver? of course not...let's get one Friday morning =)
Bet it was a mix up about the Missouri Crappie. Did you read the post on page 1 ? The thread had a site telling about the 5 lber.
Your right Nimrod, more than likley it was a mix up with the Missouri crappie. I'll do my best to get one though! Ya'll do the same!!
I heard that they have the Missouri crappie live in one of the fish tanks at Bass Pro at Springfield, MO. That would sure be something to see in person!:)
It is at the bass pro shop in columbia and it is a sight to behold the thing has such a hunchback it is kind of ugly but it sure would have been pretty on the end of my line.
fish beaver a lot not heard of any record mo. record was caught up by callaway co. nuke. plant private pond. phoney record should not count (my opinion) I have crappie that big in my pond dond send them in when caught just put em back
JT......you can email the G&F and check on it, here in LA we have recently acquired a new LA record. I checked it with our G&F and they verified it and also emailed me the photos, which I posted on this site. You might give it a try.....
