$79,600!!!!!! :yikes
How many you want....and the sad thing is you can finance them for 20 years too....think I will stay with the Ranger I have......lol...Ranger
It's amazing to me that it was that much, I know the motor adds a bunch but still. I really thought they were down around that $50,000 mark(still crazy) so i was shocked. Guess when I'm ready for a bass boat it's going to be used LOL!
Achiro its better to buy a 2 or 3 yr old boat anyway because they devalue 30,000$ in a year or two. Unless you do what Ranger09 did, his model is priced right. But those 520's way over priced! If I had to get a family fishing boat I seriuos look at the walleye series. They are nice a spacious! Not to mention safe of that damn WINDY Kaw lake! EB
But then you're going to need one of those new Chevy 2500HD Diesel's to pull it...tack on another $60,000 or so ;)
I think I will just wash and wax my 1994 Ranger!
I got one of those too...lol....its just money heck you can't take it with you..and I pay my TITHES too....I agree they are over priced, way over priced but so are alot of cars....thats the reason they make Trackers and they make Rangers cause not everyone has the same taste and needs I guess...I can say I have owned about every make and model of Bass Boat made today and some that have gone belly up, and for my money its a Ranger first and last...Do as EB says though buy used, but try and find out or know the person that owned it cause I would not buy off a Tournament Bass Man cause they run the snot out of one before they are traded in.. just my $.02 worth......Ranger
Used seems the best option to me.
For that price it will have to have a roof, electric and plumbing, and prob do other things to!!!! Lol
Yep, I will probably go used. The cdc classifieds have some nice boats and some of them seem reasonable.
my lil ol $2500 aluminum gets the job done for me. Ive seen more boats for sale on country roads and in small towns. Bunch near Lake Texoma, Kingston and Madill you can find a lot of them..
Absolutely Correct Fishers....nothing comes easy and never does for me atleast, it took many years of working hard, scraping pennies, and doing without to afford a Ranger. Thats the reason a few saw a grown man cry when it was dumped on Potts Landing Ramp...lol...just sayin...Ranger
Any opinions on the Lund? Am starting to see more of them around.
Same here and they look like a very stable and roomy rig. Had a big one unload next to me Monday with a 15hp kicker motor along side the massive 225 Merc it was supporting. Looked like a very comfortable rig to me. Maybe more suited for the Great Lakes than Eufaula but it was impressive.....Ranger
I think the biggest reason we prefer Rangers or good bass boats as guides is the ability to fish in the wind and the they float shallow. Lunds are great boats I guide several guys that have them, no complaints. Its all about personal preferance and budget! EB
Over the years (especially during my Bass tournament days) I have owned or fished out of about every brand out there. A relative was a Pro with his own sponsorship (Ranger) and TV show for awhile. I spent many days in his boat and it was great! But, he didn't pay for it. I had a Champion for a few years and really liked it. A big Skeeter was one of the best rough water boats I ever fished out of. Before I retired I was transferred to northern Kansas and became aware of multi-purpose boats. I got rid of my bass boat and bought a Crestliner V hull and it was an exceptional fishing boat. Kept it for many years and it's still running around on Eufaula somewhere. When I did sell it I bought a Lund. Mines not the biggest (1725 Explorer w/90hp 4 stroke) but I almost always fish by myself. It actually is roomy enough three can fish from it easily. Mine's set up a a Crappie edition with the option of two seats forward. Even at less than 18' it handles big waves as well as any of the fiberglass bass boats I had. It also doesn't blow around real bad because, even tho' it's a higher profile, it's a heavy aluminum boat. I fish for all species and it fits my needs better than anything I've had, or fished from, in the past. BTW, they are not cheap!

Iken, at one time I was looking at the Lunds really hard. Now that my income has went South a little, they're on the back burner. By the way, is that a Kodiak Canvas Tent you got there?
Yeah, the Lunds (like most others) have really jumped the price up there. The Kodiak is a great tent but it's an oriental knock-off of the Springbar, made in the USA. That's what mine is. The pricing isn't much different. I got a small one and it's just right for a cot, table and chair with just a little room left over. Great tent. The pic was at Sardis.

I've had old boats all my life...some were iffy on making it back to the ramp each time. My fantastic wife told me this time get a new, top end boat that I won't worry about breaking down all the time. One that will last a long time. So after a LOT of research I decided on a new Ranger Z118 with a Mercury 4 stroke 150 HP. At 58 I don't think I'll ever need another...I hope!
80K for any boat used for inshore fishing is simply nuts! Anyone who would finance a boat for anything over a couple years is Insane unless its a zero interest deal. Ranger is a nice boat just not worth anywhere near what they charge to cover all of their advertising and promotion. Woooohooooo that ought to stir the pot alittle!
For $80,000.00 I can buy several toad-sacks full of Prozac......... enough to make me happy each day for the rest of my life.
