:dono I posted a question this morning on a thread that was deleted so I'll try again. Could someone post or pm me a diagram of the best way to fish the gnats? I bought some this winter but have not used them yet.
Thanks

You fish them the same way you would fish jigs tipped with minnows. Most rig them up Caps and Coleman style useing a half ounce egg sinker between the two gnats
:hesaid
best example I have right now--can't see the line good--but you should get the idea
I use a bottom weight rig.

A gnat is a fancy minnow hook....use accordingly.
A gnat is a hand tied jig without the lead head!
Sat, what size hook for a good gnat rig....those pictured look pretty small.
1 or 1/0.
The one in the pic I posted are 1/0
So the gnat 'floats' around with the weight keeping it down. Interesting.....something ELSE to try. This crappie thingy gets confusin'. Whew!!!
Not really floating around but the minnow can move it pretty easy, just another tool in the box for catching fesh.
Why wouldn't a gnat work about 18 inches (give or take) up from a conventional 1/8 jig skirted w/a minner and a slip cork during spawn or when they get in closer, say 4-6 fow? Seems like it would be two different presentations in one. I like it....
Should work fine, sounds like a good idea to me
a gnat will work anyway you fish it
I always fish a poneyhead on bottom and Gnat on top both tipped with minnow. Would be real easy to tie up a 2 hook rig like your talking about Jimmy with 1/8 on bottom for weight and Gnat on top.
Hey guys thanks alot! Can't wait to try them.:highfive
