Sorry no pic :(. 2.75lb. Bluegill caught on live earthworm near a bridge on a creek, no float but with a split-shot. I think I was about eight years old at the time. Next one on a different day was 2.25lb. Bluegill caught on live earthworm but I was also using some crickets with good luck that day catching channel cats in a hole on the same creek, same tackle set up. I think I was about 25 years old at the time.
Biggest Speck was 13 inches on a canal last Winter caught on a jig tipped with a live minnow.
Couldn't find a pic:mad: but was 14 inches I was about 10 at the time. Using minnows on Cave Run Lake in KY.
you won't believe how far back into my "archives" I had to dig  but, here's a pic of my "biggest". They were about 2.75lbs each, and are displayed on my roommate/fishing bud's "Brag Stik". They were caught from Barkley Lake, from Buck Brush, using minnow/slip float on a 10ft fiberglass "canepole" ... way back in April of 1973 :eek:Quote:

Sorry about the dark photo ... it was taken by a film/flash camera, well after dark - and they were cleaned by Coleman gas lantern light :D
For "scale" ... sizing of these fish, they are layed out on a pic nic table (at our tent campsite). ......... cp

Caught these at Grenada slow trolling jigs/minnows. The biggest was 3 pounds 9 ounces and the other 3 even!
Took me a while to find the picture of this 4lb 8 oz hog. He was 18.5" long and in diameter. Was 3 inches thick!!!
NOT a crappie....but a MOOSE!!! :) :) :)
Nice Jim.
.....lee s.
I have 5 from 3lb to 3.6 getting mounted on a stringer. If I can figure out how to put pics on web site, I will. 2 of them were caught in tournys for big fish prize.
This was the best one I've measured. Still didn't weigh it though. If I remember right it was 15 1/2" it was 15 something.... dang oldtimers disease.

I am one of those fools who in a younger age did not know the gold that I had. When I was about 20 and fished for crappie for some of the first times, I sat in my dad's old 60's model V bottom Duracraft with a bobber and minnow about dusk when it disappeared. It was over 4 lbs. It tasted great. I did catch a 3lber ten years later and my wife caught one 2 1/2 lbs a week later in the exact same place, to the inch. I still get that feeling in my gut about the one that ended up there when I was young and dumb. What I would give for a picture, muchless a mount on the wall.
Nice fish Jim, That had to be a record or close to it in 78' right? I'm assuming that you mounted those, and didn't eat them right......Quote:

Once I get the one I'm looking for, I'll post it here.
Well this one was from waaaaayyy back. I was 8 at the time and it was a Sunday so we had to head home from Grandpa's that afternoon. I decided that I wanted to go fishing so dad dropped me and my cousin off at a local farm pond. My cousin was tearing up the green fish but i was having no luck on my zebco 202 and ultra extra heavy wt. rod. My cousing told me to tie on this rubber minnow and cast to this dark spot and let it sink. When I started reeling I thought I was hung until the line started going side ways. Finally landed this monster crappie but dad's words were ringing in my ears. "Don't keep any cuz we're not cleaning fish before we leave!" Well I reasoned that if the fish was dead he wouldn't mind. I threw it up on the bank while we fished the last 30 minutes. Dad's eyes about fell out of his head when we walked out with that fish. We drove to the local market after callling the owner (good thing it was small town life back then) and put it on their meat scale. Tipped the certified scale at 4 lbs 13 oz after being out of the water for about an hour!! I think it may still hold the state record if it would have been weighed and certified at the time it was caught. Oh well it tasted great!!
no didnt eat put it back. last one gave to a buddy and he had it mounted.I still want A 5+ POUNERQuote:

This was caught on a 1/16 oz jig and a black and chartruce 1 1/2 inch tube in 8 ft of water 4 feet down. I was rigged under a cork working it across a submerged brushpile. Can't help but wonder how much she would have weighed pre spawn, but still thankful she took the jig!! This pic was taken 8 years past. Like a dummy, I filleted and ate it!! She was fat and full of shad.
