Jon boat
I fish out of a jon boat that my grandad got as a retirement gift in 86 and passed down to me about 10 years ago. I have done a few things to it to make it a lil more comfortable to fish out of. Does anyone else that uses this stlye boat have any mods that you would recomend adding to it.

I was handed down just about like yours. I brought my front deck out even with the back of the center seat and picked it up level with the front. Done it that way so i could put a trap door in and use the front for storage.

Nice rig. Like that deck you built. I would put me some fenders on the trailer.

If it works do not mess with it each fishing machine is built by experience by the person fishing I have 3 fine fishermen ( who catch a lot crappie ) that fish near me who use bare flat boats the only accessories they use are a paddle and 5 gal bucket They are allways smilling no broke gear to deal with.
Noslab.

I like everything about the boat, unfortunatley when its in the garage I have an uncontrollable urge to tinker with it. I usually fish on conway so if you see me feel free to come by and say hello.

I like the idea of making a front deck in those lil boats, we are in the process of making one in my dads smaller boat now as I once did with a smaller boat I had, well me and dad done it. It creates more storage, and makes the boat more stable by a better walking surface and added weight. Couple other things I'd do, one since you've got a hand control trolling motor I'd go with the extended big foot arm on it. I put a dimmer switch in the floor of the boat on my lil boat where I would least turn it on with my foot if it was in the right direction making it more hands free. If you spider rig ever you might wanna think about mounting a good 4 rod holder on the front too, just an idea.

Jon boat
I would get in it and go fishing. Somebody else said it, each boat is unique to the user. As long as you are happy with it, that's what matters
