Portia Bay is about as muddy as its ever been. I'd try Shirey... heard they were catching a few earlier this week on Yo-yo's.
had portia on my mind for in the morning too! hate to hear its muddy but wondering ....... we push minners at sardis and its choclate milk everytime ive ever been...... just sayin
dspeaks if you see 2 ol boys in a excel with a 50 yammie on the back hollar at me
Will do joe. I will be in a Basstracker Proteam 165 with a 40 Merc on the back
Both where muddy, after this snow they should not be as muddy.
Still muddy
Nothing on a minnow, only one bite. I put on a white roadrunner head with a white and chartreuse joker tail and started catching fish. They were in 10 fow and 6 to 7 feet deep. I only ended up with 10 small fish. They didn't mind the muddy water. Should be good in a couple of weeks if we can get some decent weather.
thanks for the report...which did you decide to fish, shirey or portia bay?
I fished Portia and was the only boat there. Water temp was 47.3 north of the ramp and 48.9 south of the ramp. According to my fish finder, most of the fish were 7 feet deep or deeper. Not a good day but at least I was out on the water.
you can track a coon cross that thing
My dad and I ended up fishing Shirey yesterday from about 9-2. We did ok and came home w 6 keepers. It actually wasn't a bad day to fish yesterday; we kept warm and were able to get out of the wind most of the day. We started out jigging trees and structure along deeper bank lines; then moved to a slow troll technique about 10 yeards away from outer bank structure and that is how we found the fish. We were proud of ourselves for finding any at all especially since we don't troll. We felt pretty good until we went to the other end of the bay and watched two different boats put on a spider rigging clinic! They definitely knew what they were doing. It wasn't fast action but consistent. Wondered if that was some guys from this trhead?
Also, we drove over to Robinson Bay first to see if we could launch becuase I knew Shirey had been yo-yo'd pretty hard lately. The bay looked great but we didn't feel like we could launch without possibly getting stuck and didn't want to chance it. Shirey and Robinson have way better water clarity over Portia right now.
