Old boat motor.........thought y'all might be interested...

Best I can determine, this is a 1932 model Johnson Seahorse 7 HP outboard. It belonged to my wife's grandfather. Long story..........

I have cleaned a ton of junk off of it with Bug/Tar Spray.....and a wire brush. I could take it apart and get it really clean, but that's above my pay grade.

My intentions are to bring it in the house, get it out of my way in my shop, and display it, as is. Tillar handle, and other parts are missing, but it's a neat item....with a lot of family value.

I like the prop on that thing.

take the serial no to a johnson dealer and he can tell you the year model. if i were you i'd google old johnson seahorse parts and you might just luck out and find them. i have an old johnson seahorse i think the mechanic said was a 1936. i have it sitting on a johnson seahorse motor stand. i have two of the old johnson seahorse motor stands. got one for 5.00 and one for 2.00. old motor cost me 35.00 at an auction.

No way thats the prop for it. Looks like a box fan blade. Very Very cool motor!

Wow, now that's a prop, looks like it ought to be on a big 250hp outboard. Those antiques are hard to come by, bet bass pro shops would be interested in it for display purposes.

Yup. Looks like a Dayton model #7 fan blade to me. :biggrin
