I'm going to have to get some information on these "reds". I saw posts about them last year don't think I saw any pictures though. Can you fry 'em? We used to pick loads of morels in northern Michigan. My wife makes a soup with them that is just plain great.
I also heard the reds were starting. Several people were out Friday and Saturday looking.

Some from last year , they are solid, slice and fry as morels, some say start slow as they make some ill!
I'll ask her tonight. She would probably do it for you Joe.
Any reports now? I'm getting the urge!
I have not been, my cousin and a friend found 150 reds just south of Truman Sunday. He said they were not very big.
Had a report of over 500 reds by one group Saturday afternoon. And they found 50 today. Pretty reliable source but they sure were tight lipped on the whereabouts of the location:yikes
Not found any yet. Will be looking hard. Usually kill my gobbler opening morning of season then look for shrooms then go Crappie fishing
Hogster1, I am with ya on the order you just mentioned.... Kill the Bird, Find some shrooms, then hook the boat up and land some slabs...lol
Trifecta. Specs, Shrooms & BOOMS!
