Billbob and I took him a plate of Yankee Doodler's phatties. He had recently lost his wife and seemed to enjoy out company. It would be nice to invite him to Spring Camp if anyone knows how to get in touch with him.

Vonna might know Tommy
Vonna was talking to him and trying to get him on the internet so he could keep up with what was happening down here so she might know.
OH nooooooooo........me and sat are starting to think alike :Rofl
Better call slab, this site is DOOMED!:banghead
I'm trying to remember his name. He lives in Arkansas and it seems like while we were sitting around talking one evening that somebody at camp was familiar with the area cause they were talking about families that they both knew. I'm trying to dig through the old posts after camp cause I think that I used his name.
Okay . . . did my diggin. His last name is Thurmond. I'm a blank on his first name. Billbob talked with him quite a bit -- what are the chances of him remembering? :biggrin
SLIM TO NONE!:deadhorse

Billbob has slept since then. Won't be noooo help atall.

Orville's last name is Capps. No relation.
Majflyboy - that's one of the nicest things I've ever seen on the internet. Good on you. :ThumbsUp
I don't know anything about how they do business but wonder if you knew the spot and the date if you could get that info from camp ground? Probably some privacy act:dono
Orville is the guy neon introduced to us in the fall. Ennivator
I asked billbob last night, all he could remember was Thurmond. He (billbob) also said he thought he (Thurmond) lived local.
Well, get this, I thought I had lucked out and found him in Forrest City, AR, so I called the number I found for George Thurmond. It's not him. But this one has a wife who is checking the local phone book to see if there are any more Thurmond's in the area. How awesome is it that she's trying to help some strange woman in Tennessee find somebody?
That shows you there's a few good people out there.
Major, I have gone through the sign in list for camp. Thought I wrote his name and town on the list. No such luck.
We'll find him, I'm confident...this is kinda like "Where's Waldo" :highfive
I have been searching the archives for any info on this.....all I could come up with was Vonnas post from last year at Fall Camp.

http://www.crappie.com/crappie/images/icons/icon1.pngThanks to all of you organizers for your hard work. We always have a great time when we come to 'Sippi and each shindig just seems to get bigger and better. It's great to meet more people every year and put faces with names.
Over in our loop of Oak Grove, we had a wonderful example of what makes crappie.com so great. There was an older gentleman on his first camping trip since losing the woman he called his "heartfelt companion." He was having a tough time of it without her there and had chatted some with Billbob a bit earlier in the week. By Thursday evening, we got him to come on over and eat with us (there was plenty to go around cause I don't know how to fix a "little" of anything) and we gave him a crappie.com introduction. When he got the invite to the fish fry on Saturday, he really seemed tickled. I watched him some during the festivities and he looked like he was really enjoying himself, not just the food, but talking to folks, too. He told me that Saturday was the first "social" event that he had been to since she passed away over a year ago. He was even talking about getting his boat out. Now he may never get on the site, because he says he doesn't know how to turn a computer on, but I bet Mr. Thurmond will be talking about the good folks from c.c for a long time.
