You did good!:ThumbsUp:biggrin
With as many videos on youtube to tie a loop knot
this looks like a self promotion to your selling of your
hand tied crappie jigs in the background .
Just the way I see it .
Thanks for sharing your knowledge! This is the kind of help I've received on this forum that is helping me become a better "spec" fishermen in these waters that are so dfferent from the ones I grew up fishing in FL. Keep it up!!
Thanks Stump Hunter that is the kind of "how to" that makes this forum so valuable. I have a question. Does anyone know the breaking strength of a loop knot. 80%, 90%?
From what I see this is a Surgeon's loop knot, and per this www. it is rated near 100% line strength. (about 1/2 way down the page) :dono

Trapper I don't know what video you looked at but there's nothing in there about Stump's jigs. I've been on this forum for a while and have found Stump and others to be extremely helpful for anyone who asks for any help with no thought of what's in it for them. I've also used Stump's jigs and found them to be some of the best I've ever used.
Stump, thanks for the video, I've been tying a loop knot using a different technique, but this looks faster and produces less waste on the tag end. Thanks.
Great video!!!
Thanks for the video and the info, very helpful.
Stump Hunter , it was a bit of off humor on my part . Just stirring the pot a bit to get a few responses . I see your character coming through tho , you get a little touchy about your service here , well you are doing a great job ! Since you don't "get" or give a dam about what I might have to say ,,,, well I will leave you with your place of play , enjoy it and keep up the help . You can tell snap , or slab , or whoever owns this site to take my name and posts off if you like , I won't be back to bother anybody any more , catch em up !!!!
Trapper, I want you to know that you are welcome here just like everyone is. Your comment was off and it did hit a nerve but that happens. Things happens and we get over them and move on. Not everyone on this site gets along 100% of the time but we do share a love for the sport of crappie fishing. I don't hold any hard feelings toward you and you shouldn't toward me. Let me know when and I'll take you fishing, nothing like spending time on the lake to ease your thoughts.
There are two kinds of people in life......givers and takers. This is an example of a giver....Trapper, he is giving you a second chance. I'd take him up on his offer. First of all, you'll learn what kind of guy he is...and you'll have the opportunity to pick up some ideas/experience from someone who has a wealth of knowledge about crappie fishing. This site is full of great people....but it has it's share of takers as well. And sometimes, when you do a lot of giving...it's easy to get offended when someone cast you in a negative light. Stumphunter pays a sponsor fee, so he has no need to (steal) free advertising. Again, I'd encourage you to accept the olive branch...you have nothing to lose and an opportunity to gain a good friend.
Well said Burdawg, well said :yikes
It is sad to say but it is a fact, "their are a lot of US that can read a book over and over all day and not get the message" and please note that i did said
us. Where I (US) can watch a video and pick it up right away. I had never fished a day in my life till I retired in 2008. bought me a new boat a rod & reel and a float and been playing catch up ever sence. If it were not for people will to share and help i'm sure that I would have quite some time ago. It is my thought that some time we (I) say things before I (we) think. To those that are willing to go above and beyound We should always rember to say THANK YOU! (yes i know my spelling is bad even with spell check) Gabowman what is LMBO?
Good job Stump!
Good job stump and thanks for the video. Gonna practice it tomorrow until I get it down pat and use it on all my jigs.
I must say that STUMP HUNTER is the real deal. I have only spoken with him in person one time but he made a good impression. I was going through a tough time and he spent about an hour talking with me. All I can say is that Ronnie you are a class act. And if TRAPPER was trying to be funny it did not come across that way. No harm no foul, but take STUMP HUNTER up on his offer. You will not regret meeting him.
Ok, y'all quit before you make ole stump year up! Lol
"Tear" up
Thanks guys for all the great comments, y'all will make a man blush!!:o:peacesmile the wife said it's just gas......:Rofl
Now learn to tie these loop knots, the big fish are biting and it's just getting started.:)
Well, if TRAPPER doesnt come back all I can say is its his loss. I wont loose any sleep over it either way.
Boots, LMBO is "laugh my butt off".:) From reading my response you mighta gathered that Ronnie and I have known each other for quite a while (years) and are close friends. Elsewise I probably wouldnt have posted what I did.:):)
Devil Icon I keep having visions of "THE GODFATHER II". The fishing trip with Fredo.
Good video Stump. That is how I tie my stuff bout 90% of the time. Wasnt sure the name of it . Learned it form a striper guide on Murray few years back. Works great I think.
John I been using it so long I don't remember where I picked it up from but it has been a great tying knot. I don't like using snaps so I cut and retie.
Gabowman I didn't know what LMBO ment, But i knew it had to be good from reading your post in the past and if their is no copyright i plan on useing it.IF you take the time to read crappie.com you can really pick up on a lot of useful information. I must say i really like it!:crazy:
