Does you laptop have a port to plug the card into? If not go to Walmart and buy a card reader to plug into your usb port
You also have to have the correct software or app installed I think. I can not get mine to read my chip.
I heard once if you put ina puter it will erase card, I guess so you cant copy em. If you find out differ Rees let me know
When i put it in the card reader it pulls up a Navionics store, new cards get free updates for a year so you have to give em a purchase date. Will wok on it after a while and keep yall posted, sure would be handy.

Only way u can read the card on your computer is plug ff to computer and look at ff
The cards only store data (you can open the files and look) I'm not aware of any program created that that can use the data in a way like your ff does. Plus even in your ff the data is just an overlay of what your ff already has programmed into it if I understand all correctly

John, I plugged my card into my usb and when i tried to format it I was warned that it will erase the card. I would contact Navionics by phone and see what they say> The cards are encrypted so they can't be copied but there is a way to load them onto your computer with a Navionics card reader!

Try this and use it to find "your" lake and zoom in to see details. I think contours are in meters and you will have to convert them over to feet.
