Why don't you call MDWFP and ask them ?......you would be more apt to get a correct answer that way. There may not be any for all I know. I know it varies from state to state.
I know we have a few guides on here. Just figured I would get some local info.
No official requirements on non navigable waters. To guide on navigable waters like the Ms or Tn river system, you need a USCG captains liscense. Insurance is a good idea but not required.
Thanks for the info.
Couple things to remember hotrod: "They were hittin real good last week", "these fronts can really slow things down", "crappie can be real fenicky sometimes",. Remember those, and you're on yur way to bein a great guide. Jus kiddin....they guide on this post are very helpful....plenty of water and fish for all.
I would suggest the insurance part feelay suggested earlier. Would be awful for something like your boat to sink and for someone to sue you on count of it.
"Barometric pressure really has them messed up today" "all this freshwater has them goofed up" just a couple more good ones.
Feelay, I forgot the most realistic one: "The dang Corp keeps messing with the water levels and has 'em all screwed up." That right there's da truff. Hotrod, sounds like you been doin this awhile!!:Rofl
don't forget the worst about being a guide you take clients and put them on a awesome spot you have been working on for 25 years and then the next weekend there they sit with two other people in the boat ............................there went your 25 years of sinking brush and hard work
