Who's going to be prefishing for the March slabfest. I plan to hit it as often as I can starting Tuesday. Looks like the wind is gonna be a pain but the weekend shows much better numbers.

Think i'll go to Lake Griffin and pretend i'm at Lake Beauclair (one dry spot is as good as another) and save the gas for later.--shu

Got big fish out of Beauclair...never did anything to brag about in Carlton.......everyone has their favorites, but overall I think Dora gives up better fish. I know I'm gonna get slammed for sayin that, but what the heck.:bash Planning on fishing Beauclaire and Carlton on Thursday and declare war on Dora on Friday (minners around the docks). The weekend looks like some great wind-less weather as well as the first of next week.
T'was a beautiful morning, however, the water didn't look as calm at 11:30, was working Fla. Hospital "Waterman" & stopped at a park bench over- looking the lake.... pondering....how the bite was...glad you found a few, well if you can't beat'em or join'em at least the ham sammich was good!:Rofl
Today = 4 specks all 10" and under...rough day...weatherman FLAT OUT LIED:bash about the morning wind. Be hitting it tomorrow again and hope to have a better report!
You forgot to mention the gar. My Nephew was thrilled. We have not had much luck all week long. With the cold weather and the wind, did not really get much of a chance to fish hard. Called on the crappie.com troops to see if we could get him on some fish before he leaves to go back home tomorrow. Speckanator said he was scouting for the slabfest and invited us out. It was hooked in the fin and took 40 minutes to get in on 6lb test line. Biggest fish he ever caught.

Beautiful morning...wind not a problem...little cool to start with.....problem was not too many big ones. Caught 13 mostly dinks. Kept 4 (flycaster gave me 1) all 12" and above...one 13.5 weighed 1lb 4oz. Water temp was 59 then got up to 62. They're getting better everyday and should be on FIRE by the slabfest. I think I'm going to skip the weekend and hit em' again Monday.

Nice Gar.
Here is the hint of the day if you plan on fishing some shallow water crappie ---- there should be a lot of em----- think plain minnow or small small chartruesse tipped with a minnow running about. .50
The AB canal giving up a lot of 1/2 to 1lb crappie fished as above with only1 1/2 ft of line in the water. For the folks that are coming to have good time ,catch some fish to take home, and NOT LOOKING FOR SHAMOU the Ab canal should show u good time. The first half coming off of. LAKE BEAUCLAIRE the best at present. With the drought it is shallow 3 to 4 ft with very active fish. The dredge should be out of the way by Saturday.Any questions pm me. Usually the bite is good till around 11 , but when the spawn is on it could last later. The point in Mt Dora should be active as well as the side of Carlton from which the wind blows that morning. Beauclair is off and on and can be good on the trimble park point. Have fun. That's what its all about. See ya there.
Looks like Friday will the prefishing event of the year. Goobers from Jacksonville to St cloud will be on Dora, Beauclair, and Carlton.....might even be some around cg1's back porch. I'll be at the Mt Dora ramp @6:30 in shorts and a tshirt
Let me just give yall a hint on who i got for ONE OF THE 3 Sponsors for Gilbert Park Slabfest!
The initials are: BPS !!!!
Wow!!!!!!!!! Cool!!!!!!
