The idea was for folks for put there fishing posts in the forum and also have a place to sticky useful information such as the waypoints at the top of it for lakes. If the member chooses to put his/her post on the open forum that is up to them but they have the option to put there post where active participating members may see it only too.
ABH is the Mod report forum page lock to lurker?
I think the approval part is why guys aren't using it and in my opinion this whole site is a fishing report. I for one am not concerned with someone (lurker) reading the post I put up of the fish I catch and how I caught them but that's just me.

I find this to be a great tool and here's why. If I want to find a fishing report for a certain body of water I plan to fish I don't have to navigate though all the posts be either informative or social. Also while surfing though daily post via tapatalk I don't have to see the same posts showing up as unread over and over again. For example if you go to the Oklahoma boards the third thread that showed up said Eufalla report. I started reading it and didn't notice till the second page I was reading a post from 2011. This was an ongoing thread for years. Also it prevents lurkers from gathering information without any contribution. Now I admit I watched this site for awhile without posting for information but when the 25 posts limit was introduced I decided I better introduce myself and start posting. I now enjoy posting and chatting on the site and that may not have been if my hand had not been forced in the beginning. I appreciate all the information contained in the forum and hope to contribute to it myself and more likely will since someone at least has to post to see it! Thanks ABH for the work your doing to improve this site and the Arkansas section in general.
If your not concerned than you can post on the main forum and for those that would rather not share with a lurker they can post on the other forum. Life is all about choices and now we have that option to choose. If you don't like it don't use it but no need to complain when others feel there is a need and are willing to put the time in to regulate it :two cents
I haven't seen many reports don't know if there ain't any or if I'm blocked
My point exactly. This was not a complaint. This post was a question of am I missing something because there is very little activity in the forum .

I for one am waiting to get a worth while report to put on there lol. I doubt anyone wants my coordinates to where I caught 3 Dinkers!
Thanks for the positive response geagle. Hope it catches on cause you hit the nail several times with what you said. It Would make lot easier to view fishing reports than the social scene. Nothing wrong with social scene. It really took off on the Mississippi forum. I would venture to say that some folks are not fishing and some who are fishing are not posting results. Its up to the members to utilize the forum. Some like it others don't and that is what makes the world a unique place. Hope to see people utilize it more in the future. I like going to one place and just seeing fishing reports personally and the other forum for the social scene. Tight lines!
fishmen almost always get ready before the fish do, wait until the action picks up, you'll see report a plenty.
Heh, I'm with ya, there. I've caught a grand total of one crappie this year, so far. He was barely bigger than bait! But I'm learning--been on the water twice on my new [used] boat--and mostly just been getting the feel for the outboard and trolling motor. I don't even have a gps. I do have a cheapo $100 depth finder that seems to be ok for showing fish hovering on cover, but I don't have any other electronic gizmos and not sure I will any time soon.
I don't really have a desire at this point to chase waypoints or spend more money on electronics. I'm still recovering from buying all the other stuff for my boat. :) That might be something I get into down the road, but for now, I'm happy just trying getting out on the water and seeing what I find. I do appreciate the work that folks like ABH do here, though.
Hey JT they info will be there when and if you need it. Good thing you didnt say never o the gps lol. They are very handy but i totally understand the recovering from the purchase. Tight lines
I be posting over there when I get my new DF with GPS.
