Good job mccrappie, seen u guys anchored in the cove Saturday , looks like u found the right spot , that is a black crappie u are holding and the other 3 are white crappie , they are two different spieces and the blacks are dark year round , u can tell the difference because the blacks have spots all over and the whites have vertical barring the white males will also turn black during the spring spawn, nice fish!!!!

Yes, it's a black crappie, but I was referring to how dark he was. As cmj said, looks like he was pre spawn dark. I don't recall catching them that dark this early. Just thought it was interesting....
