Well guess what. It's coming soon! I was going to buy another LGC-4000, guess that's on the back burner now! nonono

Raymarine has DI using CHIRP now too. Crazy. Sonar GPS | Raymarine Dragonfly
Looks like the 10Hz on the HDS is going to do anythingQuote:
This is from fishtec
"The problem with the Lowrance Chart Plotter is not the speed or accuracy of the receiver, but rather the slow refresh rate and heading correction of the charts when navigating accurately to a waypoint at low speed. If the receiver is refreshing at 5Hz, and now there is the 10Hz coming out soon, and the chart plotter can only refresh the screen at 1Hz, it defeats the object. Changing the trails from auto to time/1sec and selecting the bow unit's GPS receiver from the Network Data Sources menu, does make it a little easier.

I think the jury is out on this. I can tell you for certain that the 5Hz outperforms the internal. We shall see. The worst case scenario is there will be a nmea 2000 Heading sensor for Lowrance, which is a win. :ThumbsUp
I and everyone I know that has one would say yes. Faster lock, I noticed performance in the charting also.
After reading more on this over on bbc I was surprised at the issues. I thought the Low team did not have this amount of issues getting on a waypoint at slow speed.
I don't expect you to understand Kosmo..... Adding the heading sensor will only improve my ability to stay dead on a brush pile. And yes, I do have better performance with the LGC-4000 over the internal. So now I can buy a faster GPS puck with heading sensor for less than the LGC-4000 and it's NMEA 2000. Well, that should make sense to everyone except you.
And since I moved my LGC-4000 to the Transom with my LSS ducer, I need an external for my Elite-7 on the bow. The heading sensor will fit up there, like a glove.
just out of curiosity, are you replacing a trolling motor mounted transducer with the elite 7 transducer
I moved my LSS transducer and LGC-4000 to the transom, and I'm using the Elite-7 on the trolling motor.
