Thanks I have the instructions but I was wanting to know if its best place for it to work my options are transom mount or I maybe in the market for a jack plate and I could mount it there because I am putting a new motor on it in march
either way will work. If you decide on the transom mount, might consider either the sternmate or stern saver (use google). Both of these are the cutting board type material that glues onto the boat so you don't have to drill holes thru the hull. You then just mount the LSS2 directly to the either of these with screws, and if you need to fine tune the location, no additional holes in the hull. I have a LSS 1 mounted to a stern saver, and it works just fine.
Either location will probably give the same basic results in terms of performance, you may have to tilt the OB up to ensure the lower unit is not blocking the L or R side signal depending on where you mount the LSS2 in relation to the OB.
Mounted mine in my minner tank. I kid you not!
The battery and air bubbler and battery charger are also in the minner hole...This is the front of my War Eagle Predator

Close up. Minners died in the tank, so I took it out and put in something useful.
One switch is for air pump, the other for LSS.

No comment eh? :Rofl
I thought he was wanting opinions on how/where to mount the actual LSS transducer, not the control box/module for the SS/DS function myself, but :dono
Maybe so, but I saw no mention of transducer. :scratchhead
Yes I am looking for the transducer mounting but his minner box mount is cool to see also
I got tired of fooling with the cable and am in the process of installing my transducers on Rickies transducer stick. I will deploy it when I deploy my TM. I know this works and no hassle with cable once installed.

I thought skimmer and lss-2 need a foot between them?
:dono I thought I finally had it figured out.
I'm going back to fishing off the bank with the farmers daughter.
My biggest. Concern is if I mount it to the transom and I let the boat float backwards (due to wind or whatever) then the ss ducer is At great risk of getting trashed on rocks or trees docks etc that's why I was wondering if maybe jack plate mounting will be my best option
here it is. I don't know much about it.
Transducer Shield and Saver - See More Fish, Catch More Fish! - TS-LSS-2 to fit LSS1 structure scan transducer
Canepole-I like your minner box location nice clean setup,I did mine kinda similar in a storage compartment with one exception-I mounted the Lss-1 box upside down cause like your mount (and mine at first) I could not see the indicating lights 1,2,&3 so I turned it upside down didn't see where/how that could hurt a electronics box.
I did something similar. Attachment 116375Attachment 116376
Looks good FAA. Does the LSS2 transducer have a built in 2d crystal?
