Lake oconee saturday.........

put in at jr's,took a long time to find feeding fish....finally found'em around 1pm in granite shoals.fish were alot deeper sat. Than they were last week.fish were caught in 28 fow and fish were hanging tight to bottom.best jigs were blue/black kalin and black/black/lack jiffy jig.limited by 5pm and had four over 2lb.some good fish should be caught at next weeks tournament.also met jbass at landing when leaving,man he had some whoppers also.i don't do tournaments,but he enters and the fishing patterns hold i believe he should be a front runner.

You did real good Redeye. I fished Richland creek Saturday and I could not find any crappie or shad, so you did a lot better than I did. Wes

CONGRATS!!! I talked to some really good fisherman who were up there the weekend and one boat had 10 the other had 11...If I could catch fish like that I think I'd be awful tempted to go take some folks money this coming weekend.

It will be tuff fishing this Sat. High winds, high 48, front conditions. They will be holding on tight to cover and Lake Oconee is all cover. The cream will rise to the top in this tourney.

You were right Earl, the conditions were just like where you were fishing. I ran out of time before I got that deep. I worked my way to deeper water but I did not have much time. I had fun, I was playing with my new toy (HDS 7) and I saw sturcture that I had never seen before on the side scan and downscan. It will be a great tool. Thanks for the tips Earl. I am glad there were only a couple of boats fishing or I would have probably run in to them. I was engrossed by the HDS 7. My wife says I am easily entertained. I might just go fishing and look at the pretty screen all day. LOL. Wes

Gtojoe.....YOU GOT THEM PICS VIA EMAIL FROM RED EYE YET?...sure was impressed with all those pics from quick...Except....we didnt see the aftermath when momma came home early and saw all them slabs laid out in her pretty kitchen!!!! I think he's still recovering from her fury!!!!...

Earl...I know jigslinger posts all your pics for you...Redeye...anybody will post for you...sure would be great to see the slabs that your reports are all about....these stories are reminding me of Mateo's love of his life girlfriend....hahahaha..

Old man must've been confused where he was at....... I only post how i do to help the next guy....good or bad.

I tell you what. These are some weird and finiky fish. Redeye caught them in 28 feet of water and I caught the mess I did in 7-10 feet. I guess thats why he caught his limit and I didn't LOL! It is going to be tough this weekend. The weather will probably change the whole scenario. Pretty much pointless pre fishing last weekend because the conditions will be totally different this weekend. But atleast I was on the water and not at work!

Naw, he aint confused.. been fishing up there since it was filled with water and lives there now. Must have been hiding under someones dock around 3 that day wearing them out and just didnt see ya rotfl

Its all good, when we find some willin to take a boat ride in the live well ill post some pics. Good fishing guys!

It will be all good when the water clears a little and the wind settles.Then the big ones can go swimming in the live well and get cleaned up and ready to eat.

Even using down imaging... i still cannot find 28 FOW no where in the entire arm of beaverdam creek or Granite Shoals as most call it...Tried three different graphs, Im suing HUMMINBIRD! $600 unit and it doesnt even tell me the correct depth!!rotflrotfl
