Congrats South65 nice write up.
Way to go south65 . I have hung a couple big ones at the rez but never got them in . They always seem to find something to hang up on .
Curious, have you eaten any of it yet? We catch them that big and bigger pretty regular when we running lines on the river. We usually release anything bigger than 15 lbs or so cause they get real fatty and don't taste very good. Just wondering if you had a special recipe/technique for them biguns.
I know of a fella that lives near my house on ky lake, he eats coot, gar, carp, and I've even watched him first hand pick up a armadillo off the road after I ran over it with my golf cart(almost flipped me over). And that fella won't touch a a big catfish, say nothing over 20 lbs. Must be a trick to it, I don't know.
Thanks guys. Was an experience in itself for sure. I soaked it for about 8 hours in ice and salt water and drew all the blood out then vacuumed sealed it. Ain't eaten any of it yet. Nailed the head to a tree for saving.
