I wanna try to catch some crappie fly fishing this year. What are people's favorite flies to fish for crappie? What tactics do you use? Any tips in general? Please post fly pics if you got them. Thanks for the help

ive never done it but would try clouser minnows in size 4 or 6, prolly chart/white white and chart/pink. good luck.
Go to warmfly.com there is a great forum there with lot's of crappie fly patterns.

I just bought a bunch of really good looking flies from Millers Fly Shop, but haven't had a chance to use them yet. If they work, they were definately reasonably priced. Will post some news as soon as I use them.

Can't go wrong with small woolly buggers. If you are a fly tyer, pink and white woolly buggers are killer.
Also, if you tie your own fly's, here is a pattern that I tie that the specks cannot resist.
Hook size 8-10
tail pheasant maraboo with pearl crystal flash
collar is pheasant maraboo tied in by the tip and wrapped about midway up the hook
body is a blend of rabbit dubbing and lite bright dubbing.
head is brass bead, size appropriate for the hook size.

Any streamer around size 8 hook will work. Try something with silver and white, also they eat stoneflys this time of year so a size 12 gray black wet will catch alot of fish at times. You will see some flys on the water. I fish 2 flys with a dropper method. Count the fly down to the proper depth then retrieve very slowley. As the water warms up you can fish shalower water with a faster retrieve. This is a great way to get started in flyfishing.
A popping bug and bream killer is all ya need!!! Wal-mart brand!!! or Bass Pro shops brand (white river fly shop) in their flying fishing section. Black and chart works the best not sure color matters!! Any place around grass or wood espically old tree tops laying in the water. We catch a lot of crappie around bream beds we are fishing!!! Good fishng!!! If you have never fished this way you will love it!!! We live on the famous White River folks think we are crazy fishing this way but it works!!!
I fish marabou "trout" jigs that I tie but you can find at BPS. 1/80 and 1/124 under large strike indicator or very small Comal Tackle pear peg float (P075RW). The beauty of the pear peg float is it will float a heavier jig, and you thread it like a slip cork then you can either use a bobber stop or you can set the depth where you want, wrap the tippet around the peg a few times and insert it into the float. This allows you to push it with your rod tip and it will come undone and you can push it to the jig/fly to unhang it.
Color varies by water you are fishing, I use mostly white, chartreuse, wht/blue, pink, pink/green, black/chtrs. I set the depth to about 6" above the water depth. retrieve varies by what the fish are wanting (and temp of the water) but a very slow figure 8 - stop - twitch - stop - repeat is the one I always start with. I fish a 9' 5wt mid-flex rod with flurocarbon tippet. www.askaboutflyfishing.com had a internet radio show last week that you can listen to the replay online about Fly Fishing for Crappie. I haven't listen to it yet, but I will tonight.
Other good flies I use a lot are as mentioned, woolybugger, small clouser deep minnows, I also really like a small crawdad pattern I tie on one particular lake/area (riprap).
