Sardis 2/3/13, a 4 wind sock kind of day!!
Made a trip across the river yesterday with a couple of buddies for their first outing of the year. Winds were forecast for a high of 13 but the weathermen lied again!!! Blew right at 20 for most of the day but we managed. With 4 drift socks it was manageable to fish but I must admit I'm a little sore today. Started fishing at 7:30 and called it quits at 3. Had a good day overall and learned that it is possible to fish in those conditions if you can handle it. We caught most of our fish in 20 plus ft of water about 10 ft deep.

Nice catch Handi, the weatherman lied to me also. I had the drift socks but couldn't use them due to where the fish were holding. Stump fields and crooked ledges.

We were spider rigging..... With the 4 socks out you still have bounce to the boat but they help enough to keep the bounce down to make it fishable. They are a must in my book for spider rigging in windy conditions.
