I just got in about 30 minutes ago... I caught 3 Crappie, 4 yellow perch, 2 White Perch, 4 Bowfin, 2 Green Carps, and 10 billion undersize Rockfish... Nothing on the Crappie or Perch to weigh in.. That was humbling for sure!
I've been waiting for one of the guys to post the group photo. I can tell you we had 33 fishingpersons and JimB won the crappie division with a 1.03lb crappie. A younger guy won biggest yellow perch. I believe his name is Kit. Not sure what the weight was.
I had 5 keeper perch and 4 keeper crappie, few throw back stripers perch warmouth and flier Had a ball, Congrats to jimb and kitt!
I forgot to reset my camera so the pics didn't come out so well.

Congrats to Kitt and Jim! No big fish for me. Had a blast with the small male perch. A few small crappie. One war mouth. Two hand sized sunfish (very dull pink). Chatted with some nice kayak guys. Polished off a box of DD donut holes.
Thank you Slab for the shirts and calendars. Very cool!
Good seeing everyone. Hope to make it back when some of the big footballs arrive.

Congrats Jim and Kitt I think the Yp weight was 0.85. I will say someone weighed in a 1.05 YP but declined the win as someone gave him the fish!! C.C campers are a great bunch! Lots of Kayaks out in the cold those guys are tough, is was cold early. I bought home 5 keeper crappie, 1 0.77 YP,, caught a 22" chain pickerel, 4 strippers 14-16" and all of them were on a 16' teley pole. too many small YP and Crappie. and at 2 I had a stripper and a big bow fin on at same time, I will say. spider rigging can be a huge cluster sometimes. It was a great day I had steady action all day. The wind was just right to gently move me up river so I just went with it from shingle landing to close to the state line, caught fish all along the way.
Wtg guys, looks like a pretty place, would love to have been there with you all
WTG Jimb, glad to see you win. Looks pretty cold there. Are you still planning to go to Buggs the end of the month?
Congratulations JimB and Kitt. Job well done.
Ricky and I had a great time at the bash. We caught a lot of fish and Ricky had a perch contender and I had a crappie contender but both of us came up a little short. We had good baits today and around 1 pm the action really heated up. We caught 39 crappie in which 16 of them went home. Caught a lot of dinks and threw them back to get bigger. We caught around 15 perch and threw most of them back except for 4 which one was Ricky's biggest of the day. Ricky had an 8 pound grinnel break off right at the boat (thank God!) and I had one decent striper at the boat but he broke off too. We Fished from almost to the state line back up to just beyond the park coming from Bob's. It was good to see everyone there and got to meet a couple of the new faces. I fished around Bennett and Russell some today along with Jim B, Tapout, Reelfun and Dean. I Thoroughly enjoyed it guys. Already looking forward to next year and by some miracle maybe the Buggs Bash. The social sessions at the Bash are just not long enough. don't get the time needed to talk to everyone and have a good conversation. Try to make a point to talk to a new member or two every year but got to see my buddies that I will not see for another year too.I'm sure I'm not remembering everything so I will chime back in on this but want to also thank Barnacle Bill for a very nice gift and to Slab for the T shirt and calender. They are both very nice and the shirt fits good. And yes Don and Boscoe, We went down fighting. We were catching the fish hard. Just could not quite get the big ones.CF
I had an absolute blast today guys. Caught a wide variety of fish- rockfish, yellow perch, warmouth, several nice bass, crappie, and a few bowfin. Set into a nasty bowfin on an ultralight 6lb id say every bit of 12 lb +. Tapout you were right behind me i dont know if you saw me go around the boat in an out of all the motors about 5 times..Are there any other Bash's scheduled this year besides buggs? What would it take to create a new bash somewhere? Just everyone's input? Thanks guys that was a lot of fun today.
Buggs bash should be sooner than usual, I vote we need to make a poll before it gets too hot, that way the winner will be a slab spring crappie not a 13" summer crop.
Also we usually have a chick lake bash kitt, in the fall (nov)
Congrats to Jim B and Kitt! sounds like all had great times..
Way to go Jimb and Kitt, glad somebody took that Farmer down. I'm sorry I missed it. Sis came over and took me to get water pump and helped me put it on, then we went to brunch. I think it's the first time we've spent together where it was just the two of us in 50 years, really a special day.
Congrats JimB and Kitt. I ended up bringing home a mixed bag 10 keeper Specks and Perch. I had an 11 3/4 inch crappie, which I think was the 3rd largest. CF has one at 12". I was the bass master of the bash. Sometimes 2 at a time. I also caught 2 HUGE bowfin. NO STRIPERS :( It was nice chatting with everyone.
Oh btw, for those who dont already know it, TapOut64 is a crappie catching machine. He visited us briefly, and when Bennett and I thought the bite had slowed down, he catches 7 or 8 and goes on about his business. Me and Bennett were left with our mouths open, like "what the ....." :) I enjoyed chewing the fat with Edentons DeerSlayer, JimB, Dean, TapOut, Bennett, Dayton, and others Im sure Im forgetting.
Congratulations JimB and Kitt--the competition was tough!:HandsClapping
I took my son, Robert, and we only caught a few fish: about 5 crappie, 9" and under; the same amount of YP, 11" and under; 2 stripers, 1 LMB and a 3' grindle. It was great fun, and a blast to be out on the water with a group of C.C members. I agree with CF, more socializing time!!
Here are some pictures from the day. I only got a few, because I was missing the camera's memory card. I found it when I got home, in the computer from last trip...Duh!
Help me out on some of the names:

Thanks Dean. Man I look good! Yes, that is my son in the boat with Howard (Rapprunner) up front and his dad Wayne in the back. Boy likes them alot more than he likes me. It was supposed to be 2+2 in the truck headed down and fishing. But it ended up 3 and 1. Bet he likes me better when he need a vehicle in a few years!
Nice pics Idunno.

Thanks everybody. Where you see all the boats is where we caught most of the crappie. I had a great time talking with all the guys fishing together at the same spot. I caught the winning fish early on a 16 oz jig on a pink and green kalin twister tail. I caught it casting. the funny thing was I never caught a fish pulling corks. I did catch a bunch tight linning. Now tell me why? Thanks for the trophies dayton. we always like to see ya at the bashes. Tell rap and his dad I hated that they had to leave early but I did get a chance to say hi on the water. hey Bosco this ones for you. We had to bring the trophy back to us Virginia boys. I met a lot of new members and did talk to a few but I always have trouble remembering their names. It was good to see Andy and Ron at the bash. I was wondering what happened to that pig strangler. I was sure he would have showed up. I guess most that did not come were into the super bowl. I do agree with Bennett that we should have the buggs in the spring. I have always said it is just luck to catch the biggest and yesterday was my turn. Sorry ED. Maybe Bosco will like you again :Rofl See ya guys on the water. Tight Lines JIM.B Almost forgot lets not forget about the bash for Keith this summer at beaver dam. Sure did miss him

That is a post card picture. I love it.
Great to see the two of you out there. I didn't know that her name is Amanda. Tell her it's a great name that I gave my oldest daughter. (who is now 22) Does she know the song from Boston?
That is one BIG JOHN BOAT Rapp has. I love it!
Here is a video of take off.

What would we do without Dayton!??! Thanks man
I was waiting to see Russell tugging a bizillion times on that starter rope hahah
Cool! Thanks Dayton.CF
After leaving the Bash, we stopped at Wawa to gas up. Ran into a guy driving a little black hurst with a back window image of a bunch of zombies playing with a Quija board. We talked a while about fishing. He was nice enough to take a pic for us. It was special since this was the first time all weekend that momma's boy had spent any time with me! And, we were sporting two new shirts!!

Was looking for brains to eat.... but Jr's is not fully developed yet and yours?... well... nuff said.
Good to see you again D-man.
Sounds and looks like a great time by all. Congrads to winners.
My son, grandson & I put over at Tulls Creek on tournament day fished near mouth of NWR and Tulls C. Nothing worth mentioning.
Reading above threads appears we have a long way to go to become competitive, but will give it the old college try.
Looking forward to next bash. Hopefully we won't have any scheduling conflicts.

Surfing around. Bringing this one back to the top. Good times.
