I am looking at the HB 598 HD SI. Are there any owners with experience with this unit?
I got one the day after christmas and put it on a 1754 Grizzly Tracker and love it! I was also looking at the 798 but I saved 300 bucks and didnt feel like I lost features that I really needed... The screen shot below was at LOZ a couple weeks ago. We caught quite a few crappie around this dock. I still have a ton to learn though on reading bottom structure

Sweet, I had my heart set on a 597 until i heard about the 598. Just gotta keep savin my pennies.
I was going to go with the 597 as well. It appears to be a good unit. I have been selling some of the stuff I used for ice fishing. We don't get enough ice to fish here in MO like we did in Northern IL. Then my wife saw the Bass Pro add in the Sunday paper and she suggested the 598 :biggrin. Whats a guy to do???Quote:

598 does not keep sonar records on SD card. My 385 does, and cost me more than half less ( $309---$249)
What are you talking about Vik; the 598ci HD Si unit can make Sonar Recordings. There are sent to the installed SD/SDHC memory card as are Screen Snapshots.
I am sorry Greg, you are right, it is not written in product description on official site, but this is in the manual.

I have not seen this before as well, but yesterday I saved and opened that huge 598 Manual (15MGB), and in the middle they say about Recordings. This is good – ELITEs do not have it, just short temporary recordings.Quote:
