Hay guys the water get real muddy down there what are some of you guys best jig colors?
Black or two tone black/ chartruce , black/pink, black/ ect .
So eagle1 black is your best colors in muddy water I thought that would be hard for crappie to see I thought a brighter color but I guest not. All the pro say go to a brighter color in muddy water. I guest its up too the fisherman.
in dark water, the lighter colors are harder for the fish to see. black has a good contrast against the water since it is darker. Also works for me on cloudy days.
dark water....dark colors.....clear water light or bright colors
Dark opaque colors are easier for the fish to see because they cast a dark silouette. Crappie in muddy water can see that dark bait silouetted in the ambient light as it moves over top of him. Light colors absorb a lot of light and are harder for the fish to distinguish.
Black or red heads bl/chart,red /chart body crappie hunter jigs, its a larger body and colors stand out.
Orange, chart, black, purple, pink, and red.
black and orange for sure
Forgot black/yellow.
Okay , okay I heard all my life bass fishing dark for clearer water and light for muddy waters . and you know I don't know . I catch most of my fish muddy , clear in between , orange head white body with a chartreuse tail . So just get it close and they will hit .
Glow in the dark.

The water at Okatibbee is never clear. Just different shades of cloudy. Chartreuse, orange, green, and red have been my "go to" colored heads. I believe the glow heads will do good also, just haven't tried them during jig season yet. I think chartreuse and orange will catch crappie anywhere, anytime.
Yep I think they will . That is what have been working on all winter . Barnett to me never gets clear . I know it is muddy today .
I have heard them say some with glitter is better . Who knows ? Didn't nothing work yesterday for me .lol
I fished chocolate milk today. At least that's what's wannabe called it. Smoked em on chart glo and orange head.
We caught our bigger fish at Sardis on Blue head, and chart. Tail. Tried everything I had with black and nothing!!!!!

A dark green and red Crappielogic gnat tipped with a minnow works in muddy water for me.
Orange makes sense, chart. Has worked for me. If you're not in their face ya won't get bit. What about scents? Crappie nibbles? Minnows? What are y'all's thoughts on that
I like the nibbles . Cheaper than minners . Lol don't smell as bad .
Forgot one more thing that i found out about fishing in muddy water, regardless of the color noise helps, since i use bladed baits most of the time i add another blade(reversed) to the split ring or a #12 barrel swivel so that it hits the blade, that little bit of noise gets their attention. Seems to work for me.
HAVE USED THE ROAD RUNNER BUT WILL TRY ADDING A BLADE IN REVERSE . LEARNED SOMETHING TODAY . THANKS .:notworthy
Old dogs know some old tricks.
I want too thank all you guys for your in put on The muddy water colors what I got for this is make no differen what the pro tell you,you still have too pick & chose the color they want. Sometime its the 1st one you get or keep picking too you get the right one there is no easy color.
Great observation.
Now that you are totally confused go fishing . Lol
Pumpkin pepper flake
Brown/chart. Blue/ Black
Like you said, just gotta try em all and figure it out. The fish don't read the same books we do!!!!!

Field experience is the best teacher . Like i said go fish . Good luck
This is something i have used for years in muddy or stained water i call em rattle runners, the blades hit and make a noise, seems to work.
In muddy water it's not always the color that's the difference... Fished Sardis in mid late March last year and they would any of 4 totally different colors... It was all about the size of the bait...
Big fish want BIG BAITS.
Muddy water fish are white and so are the bait fish.Blue/white ,with pink head for me.
I like that color to with sparkleys .
