Hey Rickie,
Not much to report. I only got out for about three hours on Sunday and the time was spent mostly fishing and chatting with my son.
In a nutshell:
No mo donut.
With the new puck and the unit Charts set to Head Up, the top of the screen is the direction that the boat is pointed towards, REGARDLESS of speed.
A couple of observations:
I did notice some differences between the ipilot remote GPS speed and the graph's speed. I saw this at least twice where the ipilot thought I was going 0.6 mph and the graph said I was going 0.2 or 0.3 mph. Once when this happened, I went to the GPS diagnostics screen, but by the time the screen came up, the unit showed that I was going 0.5 and the ipilot showed the same. If it happens again, I'll step back to the console unit and see what speed it indicates. I was in some strong gusts and do feel that I had slowed down some, so perhaps the ipilot hadn't updated its speed yet. I don't know just speculating but you can usually tell when the wind starts pushing you back some.
When I installed the puck and fired up the unit, it showed my heading to be incorrect. I eventually found that if I dropped my trolling motor, it would point the correct way. I went out the next morning ( Saturday ) to take some photos of this but it didn't happen again. I haven't noticed this anomaly since. I did take my son's cheap compass out and held it close to the trolling motor and the steering drive and noticed the indicator pointing the wrong direction. So folks may want to heed the manual's warning and mount 3 feet away from the TM and other magnetic and ferrous material. I kept it in the same hole that my original puck was in but may move it if the steering drive starts to present a problem with heading information.
Other thoughts:
I think they should offer this instead of the original puck or offer a trade in program for new owners. I don't like the idea that new owners have to pay for two pucks if they happen to be slow trollers or have a need to travel at a slow pace and know their heading relative to way points on the charts.

Trade in program would be my vote. The new puck with HS locks nmea out at 38400 and most DSC vhf radios only handle 4800. I've been looking today for basic class d dsc vhf that can handle 38400 and have not found one yet. DSC is to big a safety feature to go without.

Still all good info Stymie...(all info so far sounds like the heading sensor is actually going to work as good....if not better (for slow trollers) than algorithms can....)
I'm putting together an "on the water" controlled test to compare the AS GR50, AS GRHA, and the AS GPS HS....
I'm still awaiting delivery...

When I went to diagnostics, it was on enhanced and showed a 2 foot estimated position error.
To use the sensor, I had to have the latest update. The scroll speed issue is not a problem when set to 1 and slow trolling. At setting of 2 or 3 might be a decent setting for speeds around 5 mph. Anything above 3 is too fast in my mind.
The guys at bbc are reporting that the fix for the 6.570 uh-oh was supposed to have been out yesterday...
Maybe HB will release it before I actually get the antenna....

I was told today any and all ipilot*link systems well be at least 2 to 3 month behind in manufacture
new update is out. i downloaded to pc just now. will install tomorrow after work.
I think that only pertains to no HS gps pucks, but we will see.

From the reports I've seen, it sounds like there are issues with the 6.6 update also. But it may fix the nmea2k.

Sorry, right Software Configuration Management (SCM). When a development team loses "control" or knowledge of the changed pieces that work together without issues what we have right now is a common result. Same goes for changing a piece that affects other features/pieces, if you lose track then this kind of thing happens.
