Well what you think about it?
That does not upset me.....I can live with it
Si when does it start

Right now its just a proposal.......It will have to go before the Legislature and be voted on before it will become law.
If they are gonna do it, DO IT on all of the Big 4, Not just one.
Dont bother me cleanin more than 10 is like work.Course i dont fish sardis any how.
Personally, I'd like to see them limit the number of big fish that can be kept.
Wish they'd change ALL lakes to 15-20 and get rid of the border lake rule crap where you can keep 50
I think it would make more sense to have a limit of 20 but let you keep 5 under 12". You always deep hook a few small fish that are gonna die anyhow and it seems wasteful to toss them back. I will live with whatever they set it at but 15 fish ain't much when you drive 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 hours just to get there.
I don't mind the 15-40 limits, but they need to do it on all the reservoirs if they are going to do it. Gewbers are typical gov't bueracrats, they are going to 10" because of all the complaints from last year about short fish. All those short fish are over 12" now. There are very few fish under 12" in Sardis, been throwing back 2 or 3 for every 20 caught all fall and winter.
I'm not so sure about the legislature having to approve it. I'm thinking MDWFP is charged with handling this.

MDWFP....Makes the proposals and suggestions....The Legislature votes on turning it into law. If the Legislature passes it then MDWFP will be the ones responsible for inforceing it. Thats the way it has always been.
guys, i don't think the officers could keep up with dividing out, counting and measuring fish for every person they stop and check, so i don't think they will have but one thing to look for (over or under 12" now) as it is now they can spot a short fish in a heartbeat....
i agree with feely most fish are over 12 and if your catching fish over 12 your going to throw the 10 inch fish back anyways
I am for reduced limits during the spawn. They do it for flatheads.
The biologists told us yesterday at Sardis that you can voice your opinion on this matter on the MDWFP website in the next three or four days. Let em know how ya think, it might make a difference.

Original notice said comments can be made to MDWFP in writing until Feb. 16. I guess that includes posts on the website.
No way to post on their web site. Only contact info is an address for mailing a letter. I have to work on the day of the meeting.:banghead
You would think they could at least have an email address...this is the 21st century after all.
I've contacted them by email before. I just have to try to remember how I did it.
X2 on an email address and a way to contact them that way.
