I was curious to see if someone could stop by and look at it before I made the trip. I'm told it's road ready, but it has to be 20 hours worth of road ready or I'll need to bring some tires. Maybe I could talk the current owner into giving you a test run in her? Regardless, wouldn't mind meeting another C.C person while I'm down that way.
Bad Timing , I am in the Tampa Area , will not be back until 4 or 5 of Feb Sorry RR
A bit of disappointment along with misrepresentation with the boat. After the long drive, the boat turned out to be a '92 model instead of a '98. The aluminum trailer was actually a homemade galvanized made up of 6" I-beams. Bottom of boat had a few poorly done patches over gouges along with a fairly fresh gouge near the transom. I told the owner that I had evidently wasted a trip because of him not being truthful about his rig. He said..."But you drove all this way?". I explained I could write the trip off and take it as a lesson. The price then dropped and I took it at the reduced price. The trailer lights were poorly mounted. He left the tag on the trailer and asked me to mail it back to him. Somewhere between Jacksonville and Lake City, the left trailer light along with his tag jumped overboard and became fresh debris on I-10. By the time I got to Tallahassee, the right trailer light decided to join his twin. Now traveling out of State, through several States, at night is not good without lights on the trailer. I knew it was just a matter of time until I saw the Twinkle of those Bright Blue Florida State Trooper lights in my rear view mirror. A Walmart stop was essential at this point. Even though I didn't have tools to mount, I bought another set of trailer lights along with two stick on reflectors. I stuck the reflectors to the back of the boat and headed towards Okie land. I figured if I did get stopped, I might be able to explain what happened and showing the receipt for my recent purchase in a vain attempt to avoid the impending fine. I can't believe the amount of Troopers, County and City Cops (yes, even small towns) I passed and not once got pulled over. WHEW!
All in all, I guess I'm happy with the purchase and the trip. Just wish I could have hung out a couple of days. Final verdict will be this weekend when I launch her to see what she's got.
Glad to hear all is well . Let us know how it runs RR
