What would cause my truck to wobble real good when I hit a bump

Seems when I hit a bump, my truck starts shaking for a couple seconds. I just had front wheel bearings done 6 months ago. Control arm bearings?

Check the lug nuts.

well hell thats easy to fix get rid of it if you can afford to chevy is junk in latin

i dont know what year your truck is but the sterring box on mine had a problem after i put about 30000 miles on it and several other people i know had the same issue felt like the front end was about to come out of it (mine is a 2007 4x4)

DD, the front wheel bearings on late model GM trucks are NOT servicable. To replace the bearing, you change the entire hub assembly. Hope someone didn't charge you for repacking the wheel bearings. If memory serves you drive a Z71, correct?

Dang, ya'll a bunch of smarty pants. SOME of you must be kin to Wannabe. lol I ain't tradin, the replaced my bearing assembly and I've had someone tell me it could be the control arms. they said I needed to jack it up and holding my hands at 6 and 12, shake it to see how much play is in it

BTW, 2005 Z71 4wd

I had a Jeep pickup years ago that did the same thing. It turned out to be a steering stabilizer.

Start by having someone set in it while you lay under the front, have them rock the steering wheel back & forth (engine off, but steering unlocked) and look at all the tie-rod ends, pitman arm, etc, and see if you notice any slop anywhere. Be sure and look at every steering component.

6 and 12 would be wheel bearing play, 3 and 9 would be steering parts, same way I mentioned above, but you won't have to raise the front end.

Neon. Remember this is DD we're talking to. I don;t know what all the parts are. Never had to work on one before. lol Thanks guys. I need an oil change anyhow so I guess I can ask them while they have it up what's wrong. If I'd have known how easy the bearing assembly was to change, I'd have saved myself bout 200 bucks. Youtube made it look way to easy

Take it to Phil at Ridgeland Service Center, on 51 at Ridgewood Rd, he'll give you the straight skinny.

I will but I didn't have that wobble til I took it to them for the bearings. Been meaning to run it up by there but I haven't had any free time doing the days and they close at 5

Probably a bad idler arm assy but thats a guess.....kinda hard to trouble shoot a front end problem with out actually looking. But at any rate you need to get it to a front end shop asap

Well Don.....front end components are nothing to sneeze at.....you better get it fixed or you might not ever have anymore time off plus you might take somebody else out in the process.

You didn't have a big Round Bottom wallerin around in the front passenger seat did you?

broke motor supports . ball joints/tie rods worn out .replased a tire lately ? make a bump sound when you touch brake ? loose lug nots .

Idler arms, tie rod ends ball joints. Also does the steering wheel kind of jerk when you turn the motor off? If it does probably in steering box.

Nope........worked my last thirty years for the state ( forestry commission) ran the district maintenance shop keeping all the bob trucks, pick-ups, and bulldoziers and othe equipment going........was automotive mechanic before that, and jet engine mech in the Navy before that. I have twisted a lot of bolts lol.

tires have broken belt if radials will cause it to shake at midrange speeds then smooth out at high speeds .

An extremely obese passenger can cause wobbling and low-riding too!!:Rofl
