Water, water, and more water, I got some questions.

I have been busy chasing these deer and I know yall have everything covered over here. I have about got all this deer hunting out of my system and that means it getting crappie time.

We have been watching the lake levels with all the rain and were wondering if any of this water will still be around in March and April? I know they have a curve they try to stick to but can they get rid of all this water to get back to the curve, or will some of this water be here for a while?

I may have this wrong, but isn't Butla higher now than all of last year, and isn't Sardis and Enid close to their highest point last year?

We sure could use some water in them. I hope we get a few rains along to keep a little water in them.

Sad but they will not allow to get ahead of daily curve .

Soon as it dries a bit down south the water will flow out like crazy. Gotta have the rain at the right time to hit summer pool

Grenada is already 17 feet above curve, they didnt do to good. They will try not to but the Good Lord has more contol than they do. If they open our gates tomorrow and take 6 inches a day off of her it would take a solid month to get it back to curve, I suspect we will have some rain along the way that will slow that down, sure hope so. Delta still has alot of water in it, maybe they will hold off for a few more days.

What is the average each lake can take off per day under normal conditions?

We mainly fish Sardis and Enid, but have boat will travel if they're biting.

Sad?? What's sad is if they don't control the water level and have a massive rain and the lakes can't hold the water. People die and lots of property lost from the floods that result. That would be sad.

How many billions of dollars did the 2011 delta flood cost? Now imagine if it was caused by the COE allowing it to appease the crappie anglers water level desires. You think we're whizzed at them trying to take our guns. If that were to happen, they would be trying to take our poles!

There are so many situations that that is hard to say. Before Grenada came up they were letting out 5700 CFM and taking 8 inches a day off of it but the lake was very low and not much pool to pull from. Just a guess but figure the pool is 3 times larger now so they wont get near that off of it at the same rate of flow. There are formulas that the COE uses but I dont have a clue what it is.
Butla can pull down pretty quick because of the smaller pool but an inch of rain up river will effect it alot more as well. Keep an eye on those links they will give you all the COE info in the nation once you learn to navigate it, here's another one for the memory banks too, rule curve charts, they follow them unless we are having a good bit of rain.

i have the answer to all of this ...................wade fish last year was unreal at grenada but thats what i enjoy doing these lakes are different every year always changing just have to adapt

I agree Donald it's like a whole different place each year.

Last year we didn't do well pulling, but the year before we did really good.

I look forward to it each year.

THE AMOUNT THEY CAN LET OUT IS MAINLY DETERMINED BY WATER LEVELS IN THE MS. RIVER (ALL THE WAY UP )IF YOU GET 2 INCHES IN THE LAKE AREA WITHIN 12 HRS. GATES ARE CLOSED. 2 INCHES IN 24 HRS . THEY SET GATES BACK TO 2 FT . THE REST OF ADJUSTMENTS COME TO VICKSBURG BY WAY OF OMAHA . THE LAKES GET THE HASSEL OF DEALING WITH THE PUBLIC BUT CONTROL NOTHING . Dang, what did I miss, I was just trying to find out if any of this water would be around in 3 months.

We got to get these boys out fishing, this being cooped up must have these boys a little on edge.
