Yeh Scott. Sear em off in a cast iron Dutch over n set aside. Then add carrots onion n celery to the pot. Then add a 1:2 bottle of red wine, a can of diced maters n a box of beef broth. Put the ox tails back in n cook at 350 for. Couple or 3 hours til their tender. Take the meat out n strain everything out n back into the pot n reduce by half to make it thicker. Sho was fine. Btw ox tails ain't nothing but a cows tail. Real fatty with a good but of meat
Hey Wilbur just cause I like you so much that's one of the first things I put in :Rofl I grew up in a small town in SE Oklahoma that was predominately Italin with most of them from the old country. Got that recipe from friends mother years ago. I grow Roma tomatoes in the summer just to chop up and freeze just for this sauce. I can't take much of that acid in some of the canned tomatoes.
Thanks for the heads up though. Most people don't know that.
That's interesting about the onion guys, my wife makes a real good crock pot spaghetti sauce and she wants to know if it makes a difference whether you use a white or yellow onion. Thanks. PS the oxtail is some good eatin
Got just enough to feed both of you come on over I'll have table set a 12 sharp. You right Feesh I'd rather make it, mix, noodles with it and let sit for a couple of days. Much better flavor as with the stew, chile, homemade soups.
Like neck bones but on the other end. Looks delish. That cheese bread looks awesome.
