Hello all! Ive been fishing Bass tournaments all over the state (and region) now for 27 years. Ready to SLOW down! Crappie fishing will be new for me. I know the river VERY well from ozark to Dumas and most all of the larger impoundments in Arkansas. Gonna set up the 21 ft triton for spider rigging. Any idea's where I can get a good Side-by-side seating set up?

There is someone on the site that sells dual seat rigs I think. Being a former Bass fisherman, I would have thought you would have been more likely to single pole jigs . Might have to do dardenelle this spring. I know every inch of it (for green trout) but crappie fishing will be new. I have hundreds of piles gps marked, probably be a good place to start. I think Ill have to leave the Bass gear at the house, might be like a crack addict on that pond if I have my bass gear in the spring! Lol!!

Gonna try to figure spider rigging out cause I have a beautiful 11yr old daughter who loves fishing but doesnt enjoy chunkin N winding all day. I figured this will be something we can do together and make some memories! AND have a bunch of fish fry's ;)

I seldom put anything but one type of tackle in my boat. If I put anything other than my jiggin poles in I might backslide some days. If you know where all them brushpiles are your one step ahead on Crappie fishing. If you try verticle jiggin , you could get addicted to the thump. Hope to see a post on the beginners and mentoring forum after you start fishing with your granddaughter. We have contest for mentoring stories from time to time.Quote:

Nimrod, Ive done some singe pole jigging on Conway a LONG time ago. Just as in bass fishing I wont limit myself to one technique. I will however concentrate on one till I feel like Ive got it down somewhat.

I sell these, and I like them better than the pedestal type seat frames because they are more stable, and you can use them for other things outside the boat. I use them for chairs in front of my desk at work to display my boat seats, dove hunting, duck hunting, BBQing, etc.

Well, after only 24 hours as a member I have to say, YOU GUYS FREAKIN ROCK!!!! I've been invited to Dardanelle, Conway and Pine Bluff, The spring crappie camp get together and have got a ton of info from a bunch of you!,A special thanks to Arkansasbowhunter, JW called me and inundated me with a plethora of Crappie info. I must say the Bass circuits I have been chasing do NOT treat the new guys like this. I am in awe of it and very humbled. The way this country has been going lately has had me down but you gentlemen and ladies have put me in such a great mood. I want to meet and share a day in the boat with each one of you. Aww shucks! Hey, wait til you have a couple of those trips where you dont catch anything and you wanna break all of your poles over your knee and throw them in the lake! Just post about it here and feel the love! We have all been there, usually when i have a day like that, I am planning my next trip on the way home.

Welcome as others have said. I still like the bassin myself but do plenty of crappie fishing now too. My best choice for poles are the B&M ones in whatever length you prefer. I'm not much in the 12' and over category but that's a preference thing. You can't go wrong with the smaller Pleuguer reels to go on them though. I've never cared for their bait casting reels but they make an awesome spinning reel. I bass fish for fun, I crappie fish for fun and food so the crappie fishing wins out a lot. For spider rigging I've made my own thing but from what i've seen theirs some sweet looking ones out there. All I wanted was a simple 4 rod holder on front of my boat which I made outa some all thread and flat metal along with the holders at walmart. Oh, and be sure to post pics if you do happen to catch em.
Welcome from NLR. There a lot of info on here and a lot of guys willing to help. I'm just getting back into fish myself. I have not bass fish in 20 years. Some day are better the other crappie fish.
